really enjoyed this movie, thought it was a great addition to the craig bonds. do agree there were a few scenes that could have worked better with a few less quick cuts but over all worked well and i will be buying this soon

That was actually a commercial they showed in the theaters advertising Blu-Ray before movies started. It was pretty cool they should throw it on as a special feature!

There are so many posts about the packaging of discs that I think sometimes this site should be called "Blu-ray Slipcover, Steel books and I hope it not the thick case.com"

Bond needs a more clean and higher quality style with beautiful compositions and long dramatic dolly and jib shots.
This is a whole of bollocks. Look at Bourne Supremacy and Ultimatum and compare them to Idenity. The style is significantly different how the camera shakes and moves (and in my opinion better). Does it detract from the films, that's an opinion and not a fact. I also think you're trying to hold onto the old bond, in this new series thus far bond is more rugid and out for revenge (no matter what) then he is 'up scale' and 'classy'. As has been said numerous times, this is more similiar to Flemings bond then any bond that has existed on film before.

That bieng said I do agree that quantam was not as good as casino royale.

Urgh, maybe if thye where going back to the chessy all action over story plot that was die another day (which I don't wish to see either), otherwise I have no will to see Michael Bay direct a bond film.

Why would anyone be upset with an eco friendly case? There is zero difference when you add it to your collection. It doesn't seem less protective. I was very happy too see it! I would like to see this practice continued.

I was wondering what the heck happened to the case when I looked at it, then I realized it was an eco-friendly thing.

I think it's actually cool now, a good cause.

As for QoS, amazing PQ/AQ. I lovee it!

Just watched QOS tonight (it arrived today from amazon along with the other 3 new Bond steelbook releases). I found this movie quite good. I was expecting a dud based on reports from friends who saw in in the theater. The action shots were extremely exciting (and numerous), but if any of this stuff happened in real life, Bond would have been dead in the opening sequence. He has more lives than a cat. He seems to be indestructible. The PQ was extremely good.

haha thats what makes him Bond. And especially with Craig playing him, you can pass him off as even more of a tough guy.

Just thought I'd mention this laughably bad review from IGN. It gave me a good laugh at least. Hmmm, do they really expect anyone to take them seriously?....

http://bluray.ign.com/articles/965/965719p1.html

My favorite part of the review, which also makes me ask my question from above again... "No doubt the future double dip will sport a better transfer, and better bonus features." I can respond to that in three words: no, no shit.

just watched this movie for the first time...I was all psyched up to see it in theaters, but the bad reviews and my busy schedule deterred me from seeing it.

It got lots a praise from this site and a whopping 4.7 movie review...so I was ready to go. After watching it......it was just ok. The action was fast paced...but the consistency and pace of it was not believable..(I know this is James Bond, but it got old) There were elements of the movie that I liked, but I just thought they could have been done better....and what was with that horrible opening song? There was some really bad acting in this too...not by the main characters....

If this site would have given it a rating of 2.0 I would be defending it, but 4.7 is way too high for this film...it doesnt even touch Casino Royale. Im not sure if I will watch this one again.

Just watched this for the first time and I really liked it alot.
My wife and I pointed out that all that was missing was a train fight!
You had fights in air, land, sea, etc.

Wow, he actually claims this is a bad transfer as grain was visible.

Another line just showing all ounces of creibility circling the toliet for ign is this line
"For HD, Bond should come off cleaner and with a more balanced audio mix; and for home entertainment in general"

I really have to ask how many transfers are there that are better then Quantam of Solace. Not bloody many at all (I didn't come across a single flaw in the video).
