That is disappointing. I plan to pick up the The Last Detail when next month's pre-orders go up for sale.

Some of the ABC titles went to Disney, others elsewhere. For instance, The Last Valley, They Shoot Horses, Don't They?, Hell in the Pacific and I believe (though, I'm not sure about this) Junior Bonner are with Disney. So, MGM have licensed them from Disney and can't sub-license them to a third party.

Pity. These great gems certainly deserve a HD love.

A few questions:

Why are some films on SAE but aren't on the Twilight Time site?

Was a low quantity count ever released or is there still any way to find out the remaining amount on titles?

What is the shipping costs at Twilight Time's website? Went all through it and couldn't find any costs posted.

If they were smart, they would included a "??? many quantities left" on each release on their site. That would likely prompt some sales as well.

(*** FLASH #2 *** The picture just froze up again a few seconds further along and now it seems as if it's really stuck. My player is an old Pioneer Elite BDP-23FD. I tried playing Emperor of the North and Spartacus in somebody else's blu-ray player and they both work fine. So I can only conclude that my player is the problem. I have the latest firmware upgrade on order from Pioneer. Whether the firmware fixes the problem or not, I think it's time for me to start shopping for a new player.

I wonder if the 1972 version of THE HEARTBREAK KID is in the ABC package? Fox released it to theaters, but the old OOP DVD was on Anchor Bay.

The TT site is only a half-year old. Much of the stock on earlier titles was already in SAE's hands.

The most recent LQA list was issued in early November, and it appears in post #1 of this thread. TT had said on Facebook that they planned to issue a new list once SAE's Nov/Dec sale was over, but it hasn't been posted yet. I would assume that Hectic Holiday Time got in the way.

Well, that is the purpose of the LQA lists. It would be difficult to do it as a running feature as they'd have to coordinate with SAE 24x7. Plus, for most of their available titles, it really isn't an issue.

Just ordered from SAE:

Big fan of the television show from my childhood, but have never actually seen the films.

Next up will be the reissue of The Big Heat. Unless I give in to the urge to pick up Zardoz.

After having been bit hard by double-dippers over the years (as I am sure many of you have been) and now that TT decided to catch the Double-dipper bug, (fright night re-release among others) I no longer purchase their products, on principle of breach of promise alone.
Let alone many of their releases are very substandard to what's available internationally (when other legal copies are released in other nations)
Though i do really like the isolated scores, I found myself listening to one or two of the 20+ TT titles I own so it kind of became a non-issue.
Oh well, best of luck to all of you with their products.

Anyone else get an email from Randy at TT claiming that your credit card was never charged for Mysterious Island and or Harlock: Space Pirate. I did, even though I never ordered Harlock (I purchased Mysterious Island), and asking me now to send my name, credit card #, expiration date, and authorization code. Don't understand why they would send me my blu-ray if they did not charge me for it, and wait this long to let me know, guess I need to look into this now.

Are they asking you to send your credit card information by email? If so, that seems like a scam as most companies usually make a point of saying that they'd never request information be submitted that way and recommend you don't.

You can blame me for this one.

I ordered Mysterious Island and Nineteen Eighty-Four on Nov 20. They shipped, and I received them, but my card had not been charged for it (though the usual 24-hour pre-authorization appeared and disappeared when I ordered). I figured that they might've been crazed during the holidays, so I waited until after the New Year to see if the charge would show up. It didn't.

I'm not one to take advantage of an obvious fall through the cracks, so the other day I contacted Twilight Time about it. They looked into it, and told me that because Mysterious Island was delayed, the shipment went past the allotted authorization window, which is why my account wasn't charged.

Apparently, in looking into this, they found other instances in which the charge wasn't made. You should check your card accounts to see if your charge went through or not, and contact them as needs be.

They sent a message to my account on the site, so that I could provide the payment info without having to send it through email. The only truly secure way they could correct this would be to have people place a duplicate order in order to get the payment info, and then not ship the duplicate order, but that could be complicated and fraught with its own problems.

It's possible the original was classier, but this is so much more clever (you'll know what I mean if you've seen the movie and know the significance of that coffee pot.)

The new cover is very clever, but it strikes me as gimmicky and not as reflective of the overall spirit of the film as the original cover art. It puts all the emphasis on a single plot element, that while memorable and shocking, would be more shocking if the cover didn't scream "Hey look, here's a coffee pot. Keep and eye out for this coffee pot. It's important!" Count me in for preferring the original artwork, but I understand why they changed it -- to encourage double-dippers.

The original cover art is among my top two favorites in Twilight Time's catalog. I really wish it were available as an art print similar to Bell, Book, and Candle and some of their others released as posters. I'd love to have this framed and hanging on the wall. So cool and noir-ish. One of the best covers ever in my opinion.

Well, I think the additional extras will do more to encourage double-dipping (it will for me) than the new artwork. All of the reissues so far have had modifications to the cover art, ranging from just adding a frame (Fright Night through changing the color scheme (Mysterious Island) to completely new artwork (Journey to the Center of the Earth). I see it more as trying to distinguish between the two editions than any other reason.

I, too, prefer the original edition's art, but I like this one as well.

I know there are people who obsess over cover art even more than the extras. Not everyone watches the extras but everyone looks at the cover art. I think Twilight Time knows this and knows that there are some people who will have to have both covers. Me, I store my blu Rays spine out so it's not that big a deal. I just wish they had a chosen a cover that featured one more of the characters and not a prop.

To each their own - I tend not to obsess over cover art, but whatever floats your boat....
