Garden of Evil review at DVDbeaver.

Hmmm, although the TT has better detail of course (is it coming from a 4K scan?) (but sometimes it hides under the high contrast), I prefer the color timing/contrast of the other blurays which is much more natural and doesn't feature those orange oversaturated faces..

Also DVDbeaver mentions that:
Quote:
seems vertically more accurate - making the other 2 Blu-rays appear slightly vertically stretched (longer, thinner faces).
I wouldn't entirely agree with this.

The TT may be more accurate to the original theatrical presentation which features the cinemascope "mumps" but the most accurate to the actors' faces, are the other Blurays, meaning they have corrected the mumps.

I myself don't know what to do sometimes with these films.
See them as they originally were presented with the mumps, or correct this with my player's settings?

Is it okay to remove "Screen Archives Entertainment Exclusive" from Twilight Time titles?

Yes. Since TT now has their own website as a sales point in addition to SAE, a few months ago they asked that "Screen Archives Exclusive" not be included in the listing for new title announcements. That is why it has disappeared from recent announcements.

If you are asking because you want to go back an remove it from past titles, go ahead.

Excellent. Once I finish fixing the Criterion database, I'm going to work on TT.

Note that most of the earlier TT titles are still available only at SAE, so you'll have to cross check their availability at both sites.

Interesting.

Should I list the OOP as Screen Archives Exclusive, like NotLD, Alfredo Garcia (original release), Leave Her to Heaven, etc.?

Those were SAE exclusives so I'd say yes, although not all OOP titles were exclusives.

I just placed an order for The Eddy Duchin Story and Anastasia.

I hope they're good!

I haven't watched Anastasia yet, but The Eddy Duchin Story is a favorite of mine. One of Tyrone Power's best films, with great performances from Kim Novak and Victoria Shaw. It is one of Novak's most memorable roles, in my opinion.

Whatever you do, do not read the IMDb plotline summary. The person who wrote it summarized the entire film.

First Men in the Moon must be close to only having 100 copies left. It will probably sell out right as TT announces The 3 Worlds of Gulliver.

Man, "Devil in a Blue Dress" is a great film. Hadn't seen it in a few years before watching the BD tonight. Special movie. Washington, Cheadle, and Sizemore are all incredible in it. Please check it out if you haven't seen it.

I second this. It's a great piece of neo-noir. It took me a couple of viewings to really appreciate it, but it's a fantastic film with some great performances and thoroughly recommended for anyone who likes Philip Marlowe type detective flicks (as mja345 obviously does as per his avatar). Don Cheadle is both scary and hilarious as Mouse.

Will September/October titles be announced next Saturday? I haven't picked up a TT bd since Born Free so I'm hoping for some good upcoming titles.

Yeah so far the only upcoming title I'm interested in is Theatre of Blood.
