I have some good news!

Was looking thru Amazon Prime Video collection and suddenly I see Panic Room. I was thinking that it might be the same superbit version from the DVD and Netflix, but to my biggest surprise, it was in glorious 1080p HD.

This is not the old HDTV transfer. This is the real deal.

The colors and and bitrate is superb.

So this should mean that Amazon has bought the new 4K transfer and put it up. In 1080.

For everyone eagerly waiting for Twilight times to release, have a look at it on Amazon Prime video in a fantastic transfer. Guaranteed.

Cheers!

Because there was a backlash against "yet another SONY format" which made people think Blu-ray was like MiniDisc, UMD or Memory Stick.

So it does matter.

It was regarding their awful BD-R ridden Choice Collection line. Not with the great Twilight Time.

It's really encouraging that a largely forgotten 'little film' like this could sell out so quickly. It's not got the kind of visuals you'd use to show off your system, it's not an obvious must-have title, it's not a genre that has a large BD following, just a lovely little film that seems to have relied as much on warm word of mouth on BD as it did when it came out in theaters.

I was in Catholic elementary school when this film came out and the nuns urged us to get our parents to take us to see it. Now, when the Sisters of Charity suggested you to do something..........you know, like that scene in The Blues Brothers shows you.
Seriously, I enjoyed it then and echo your feelings regarding it.

Here are the TT release announcements for July, courtesy of the Home Theater Forum. Thanks goes to them for posting this on their site.

Also, per the announcement on HTF, Twilight Time will now be announcing their release schedule one month at a time instead of two.

As always, out of respect for their exclusive sneak-peak announcement window, I will not be updating the first post of this thread until TT officially announces these titles on their Facebook page sometime later today.

TOM SAWYER (1973) / HUCKLEBERRY FINN (1974) BLU-RAY - July 18th

EVERYTHING YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT SEX* (*but were afraid to ask) (1972) BLU-RAY - July 18th

STATE FAIR (1962) BLU-RAY - July 18th

THE CRIMSON KIMONO (1959) BLU-RAY - July 18th

Outstanding month. More Sam Fuller on the way, and one of his best. That makes any month a winner.

I remember those Tom and Huck films from my childhood. These are much appreciated. Also glad to see State Fair with Ann Margret. And finally one of my favorite Woody Allen movies (and the one I consider his funniest) arrives on Blu-ray. I have been waiting on this one for a long time.

I am super excited about getting Sam Fuller's The Crimson Kimono (1959) on blu-ray.

I have always preferred the poster art from the Italian release.

I remember those Tom and Huck films from my childhood. These are much appreciated. Also glad to see State Fair finally get a standalone release outside of the Rogers and Hammerstein box set from Fox a few years ago. And finally one of my favorite Woody Allen movies (and the one I consider his funniest) arrives on Blu-ray. I have been waiting on this one for a long time.
Actually the 1962 version of State Fair with Ann-Margret wasn't in that box set (only the original 1945 version was). This its blu-ray debut so that's VERY good news. And Everything... is also one of my fave Woody movies, so many silly moments in that one.

Doh! I never checked out the box set since I had three of the releases already and never realized it contained the 1945 version. My bad. Thanks for the correction.

The 1962 version was only available in the 2-disc DVD edition of the 1945 version and wasn't carried over to the BD.

The 1962 version of State Fair was part of the original Rodgers and Hammerstein DVD set. For some reason, that title was not carried over to the blu ray version. I paid $73.99 for the blu ray set when it came out and am now a little irked that I have to pay another $30 to complete the set, but at least I'll have it.

This is one announcement where I can see myself picking up all four titles at some point. The Tom Sawyer / Huckleberry Finn twofer features some great songs by the Sherman brothers. Classic Fuller, Ann-Margaret, and Woody Allen (one of the early, funny ones). It's a good month.

A nice group of movies. Nothing I need immediately but definitely a couple down the road.

I think this is the first release of this version of State Fair since VHS. There is no record of a DVD or even a LaserDisc.

Nice line-up of films in July.

The Crimson Kimono is so mine that it's not even funny.

I'm also down for the Tom Sawyer/Huckleberry Finn films, which I also fondly remember from childhood.

The DVD was in the box set of R&H as a second disc with the 1945 version. It wasn't included as a second disc when they rereleased the set on blu-ray
