The one that I always find humorous is how they can argue for years ........ years mind you, about the color of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

Supporters are always on the defensive there. Read some of the thread if you don't believe me.
I’ve participated in that thread, the defenders behaved so poorly they were banned. I have no measuring stick to do justice to your claim however.

I feel like that's probably a mistake, though it's a funny point.

I love how long this sale lasts, I can grab low quantity titles now and milk over some others for a few weeks.

Some of the more popular genre movies like Star Wars, Nolan's Batman, sci-fi, horror, etc. do tend to incite more heated arguments. I don't know if it's the age of the people involved, or the type of people who obsess over those types of movies.

It was the same way when I used to post in IMDB, you would just avoid those threads altogether and it was those threads that were largely to blame for IMDB deciding to end their forums.

I've noticed since I started posting here (after being a longtime lurker) that the "blu-ray" threads are by and large pretty respectful, but the "movie" threads are a little more disrespectful. But if you get people in the right mood though, they'll argue about anything.

I think part of it is that people who are talking on-line about movies are already a pretty specific niche, and a lot of them/us build a personal identity around their tastes. So, if I'm a "Star Wars" fan, and it's a bit unhealthy, I might take the criticism as a personal attack of sorts. I say them/us because I know I did this in my younger days, and it's something I've tried to mature away from.

So I was sitting in my 4PM meeting hitting refresh waiting for the "Violent Saturday" price to drop, finally gave up. After my meeting was over, I managed to grab the 5 titles I wanted, so it wasn't a problem, but it was kind of thing that I could never explain to anybody besides the people who post here.

While he's at it, he could visit any one of those "Poll" threads where everyone's cool with each other's choices and giving praise until the moment the results start to come out. Then everything inevitably devolves into an epic shit-storm over who has the better/worse taste in film.

I took advantage of this sale and my $2 off coupon($2 off for each item).

Bought

All three films I have on my list for a long time and bought. I haven't seen The Train or The Night of the Generals. It's been a long time since I've watched The Young Lions, but it is an excellent film.

Anyone know why 'The Fabulous Baker Boys' isn't showing up on SAE at the moment (either in or out of the promotion)? No more stock? Or just some kinda weirdness as they update the site for the sale?

Sold out via Screen Archives, but you can still get it from the official Twilight Time store (I wouldn't hesitate though).

Thanks gents. I grabbed it from the Twilight Time website instead (didn't realise it was a dual sale). Murphy's Law also somehow jumped into my basket . It's hard to say no to Chuck Bronson

Thanks TT & SAE!

I grabbed:
1 THE FORTUNE COOKIE (1966) (SPECIAL PROMOTION) $19.95 $19.95
1 I WANT TO LIVE (1958) (SPECIAL PROMOTION) $14.95 $14.95
1 SOLOMON AND SHEBA (1959) (SPECIAL PROMOTION) $9.95 $9.95
1 STORMY WEATHER (1943)(SPECIAL PROMOTION) $14.95 $14.95
1 OUR MAN IN HAVANA (1959) (SPECIAL PROMOTION) $14.95 $14.95
1 EXODUS (1960)(SPECIAL PROMOTION) $14.95 $14.95
SubTotal: $89.70
Shipping: $8.25
Total: $97.95

Stormy Weather and Exodus are low quantity, & I wouldn't be surprised if they are gone soon. I do predict that Rapture will still be standing strong and still available after the sale, yet again.
