My biggest regret regarding a TT release that I could have bought and didn't is Bye Bye Birdie. I told myself at the time that I didn't need to own and then, when it sold out, I immediately regretted that decision. I keep hoping now that someone else will pick it up.

At this point I have no regrets, but that's because I've not waited on any titles I must own (I have no problem paying the full price for ease of mind), and I've made an active effort over the last 5-6 years to watch all the movies I haven't seen before via other means in order to know if I want it or not. Almost all are available to find via rentals on Netflix, Amazon, Youtube, etc. The few more that aren't I've tracked down at local small rental places or libraries. Then the very few that remain after that I've blind bought when discounted when I could.
My current list of titles I need to see in order to know if I want to buy it is about 50. I just knocked out My Cousin Rachel the other night (via Amazon streaming), and plan to check out Dragonwyck tonight (available on Youtube). |

Funnily enough, I was on the fence about TT's release of The Mechanic, as I don't really think it's that good a film. As soon as it went OOP I decided I did want a copy, so ended up getting the German Region B for about $10. ![]() |

Gents (and ladies, if any are present)
In my 4+ years of maintaining this thread, it gives me no greater pleasure than to finally move this into the SOLD OUT section of the first post. It's about time too......one of the best films TT released and my favorite blind buy ever. This lost-in-the-vault gem should have been one of their first sell outs. Thanks Nick and company for bringing it back for new generations to discover. Finding films like this are the main reason TT has earned my support and, for those who have seen it, the applause of film fans everywhere. Well done. ![]() Last edited by oildude; 06-16-2018 at 05:26 PM. |

All this talk of Rapture selling out makes me kind of sad I missed it. It seems to be pretty highly regarded.
And yes, I know "missed" is probably not the correct term as it was available for four years, often at a price less than $10. ................ But I didn't know I wanted it until now... Just now. Seriously though, Twilight Time releases so many great movies, you could almost pick any random title and find something special about it. |

Bell, Book and Candle, The Blob, Bye Bye Birdie, and Leave Her to Heaven are my "ones that got away." I got into the Blu-ray game pretty late and missed out on those. Body Double and Wild At Heart would be on that list, but thankfully they've gotten/are getting other releases friendly to my region. I think Wild At Heart was actually the title that caused me to find out about Twilight Time.
Also, I just watched Bell, Book and Candle go for $105 on eBay last week. *sigh* |

I've barely bought half a dozen TT releases, but RAPTURE was one of them, and it certainly deserves to be on the 'Sold Out' list. It's a disc I feel has a special place in my library, with the limited amount of pressings. There is still the Eureka edition for those who are region-free and are now wondering if they should've grabbed it.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm not region free (though, admittedly, I probably should be) but I may try and scoop it up off Amazon.

The only Twilight Time release that I feel I missed out on is THE EGYPTIAN. There were some that I "dawdled" on, BYE,BYE, BIRDIE, CAT BALLOU, but when the sales came, there were always other titles with higher priorities for me. Don't really regret it, because I'm sure they'll show up again somewhere, sometime.

I was late to Twilight Time so I have plenty of regrets but Rapture isn't one of them. I'm glad I got that one.
