If you're a soundtrack fan, of course you do, especially when the soundtrack isn't otherwise available. The late Nick Redman was in the soundtrack business for years before he started Twilight Time.

...there could be an announcement tomorrow (it's about that time). It's been ages since I last bought a TT release (Cat Ballou, a while ago), they just haven't been releasing anything that I want.

Sean Ive never heard anyone say Winner had skills before! A truly nasty man by all accounts who somehow managed to get financed for a number of unpleasant or just downright awful movies, yet talked some very big names into playing in them. I do agree though Chato's Land is a rare exception, in spite of the 70s overuse of the zoom lens. I'll Never Forget Whatsisname was one I enjoyed, mainly because of Orson Welles. I'd love to have seen Winner try to direct the master! :-)

I realize that Winner is not particularly highly regarded in Britain, and likely not without good reason probably more linked to personality that anything else, but his output in the 70s was solid. Death Wish, Stone Killer, Lawman, Chato’s Land, The Mechanic are are well made and enjoyable films. Even The Big Sleep was better than it had any right to be, with the majority of criticism levelled at the change of location and/or time period which had nothing to do with filmmaking skill.

Agreed. But you forgot The Sentinel. Another one of his solid films from the 70’s.

I'd be fine with more of those 15/$15 sales, though the last one of those they had was pretty uninspiring as well.

I hope, if they do another $15 sale, they’ll have a better selection than those 7 for $70 bundle titles. Though, I will say, the one title I did buy from selection, “Garden of Evil”, I enjoyed quite well.

Same, especially since $15 is my sweet spot for TT titles; I've got a nice little list that needs hedging.

I'll admit that we were getting spoiled by sales...at one point it seemed like we got one every few weeks. So I get wanting to scale them back.

But you can't insult the intelligence of your core clientele, which that most recent sham certainly did.

I bought one title during that last 15/15 sale as well and it was only because Screen Archives had the Smokey and the Bandit sequels in stock so I figured I'd add more stuff to the order to save on shipping. Think about that, the Twilight Time title I bought was just an add-on to a full-price purchase of Smokey and the Bandit 3!

Anyway, the title I bought was Take A Girl Like You, which was an okay film but nothing I'd really want to watch again.

There is a bit of a backlog starting to build on my Twilight Time wishlist but nothing that is a "must have". The last one of those was Melvin and Howard.

Yeah, great western. One of my favorites.

Garden of Evil had an excellent cover, too: Coop and Richard Widmark in the foreground, with Susan Hayward standing behind them, dappled in the dusty light of the ruins of an old Mexican church.

The booklet that came with the disc had a detail shot of Hayward standing alone in that church. It really set the tone of the movie for me.

Garden of Evil is easily one of the "prettiest" westerns I've ever seen...its locations are breathtaking.

Props to TT too for such a loaded disc; I should really make time for some of those documentaries.

Some of the extras came from the previously released DVD, but still nice to have.

He may have been boorish, outspoken, and an unabashed self-publicist - but that hardly makes him unique in the film business. And the idea that anyone could talk legendary toughs like Bronson, Marvin, or Mitchum into doing anything is pretty much laughable.

No doubt he was a journeyman director, but most of his films are competent and entertaining if one has reasonable expectations going in.

This is great movie to just watch without dialogue while listening to the musical soundtrack playing. The cinematography is gorgeous.

There is one particular title I want. Buying it at full price with international shipping would make it $43

When are the sales usually?
How much are the discs reduced?

Do you know if the shipping is just a flat fee regardless if you buy multiple discs?
