With 3 orders between TT and SAE these past few days, I think I have stocked up on all the TT titles I'll need. The only ones I passed on are the ones without special features and are available on streaming or from another label.

I got into TT late since I was more hesitant about spending so much on movies back then. My first title was Guess Who's Coming to Dinner.

I truly despise NEW UPDATED websites that just make things harder and are mainly designed to maximize mouse clicks and page loads rather than efficiency

I need information on the title and an order button. I want the ability to see 100 or 250 items on a page (not 16). I don't need 40 videos and dancing clowns, and 40 advertisements per page. I want to be able to move items from my Shopping Cart to wishlist and back again in seconds, not minutes.
Yes! I still miss the old Criterion site.

If the deal means they can possibly reprint more copies of the Flint films I’m all for it

So the news about Screen Archives buying all stock makes sense, but the part about "reprints" where contractually applicable confused me at first. I see some talking about what it might mean in this thread as well.

However, after thinking a bit, I believe the most likely explanation is that it's just "reprints" to REACH the contracted 3000 units, not any kind of extension to go PAST 3000 units. There was an interview with one of the Twilight Time runners where they talked about only printing half of the run at a time in most cases to prevent having too much stock on hand racking up warehousing costs. For some of the newer titles or some of their particularly bad sellers, they may still be in the first 1500 copies, so buying out the related contracts lets SAE print the remaining 1500 as necessary for those titles.

I'd be enthused if it's anything more than that, of course - but I don't get the impression that that's in the cards...

That sound very logical. Though, if this is the case, one has to wonder if there would even be any market for additional copies of titles that aren't selling in the first place.

There are a number of out-of-print TT titles that I've love to have, but I doubt any of them fall into this category, darn it.

Or, that's just what we were told the deal was. Perhaps some (or all) of the titles started to have "encore" options in the contract after that became a thing with TT.

Would it really be that tough to negotiate a reprint of fox titles with Disney, for instance, when Disney has zero interest in putting them out themselves? Sony has their own MOD line but Disney has no good venue for these titles.

My TT order came in today. 3 days after it left the warehouse. That's a lot faster than I thought given the strain on the USPS lately. Hoping between TT and SAE that some of the titles are still there on the 1st so I can make a couple final orders.

Hopefully, I don't care if its Criterion, Arrow Academy, or Indicator gets around to It Should Happen to You. One of my favorite films with Jack Lemmon and Judy Holliday IMO gives a standout performance.

Why would they do that, when they explicitly said, after the Encore of The Train was announced, that they were not doing any more?

Disney has very little interest in putting out their own catalog titles (with some exceptions) and no interest in licensing any of them out to other labels. So why would they be interested in doing so for the Fox titles?

The only "wholesale" Blu-ray licensing out that Disney has done is with Kino. Those were only for subsidiary lines that Disney owned, like Touchstone or ABC Pictures. Now, sure, Fox would fall into that category, but the Kino Lorber Insider has clearly indicated that a new deal with Disney is not likely. So why would it be any more likely for another label, especially one whose marketing and output would be a lot smaller than Kino's?

Why some people are so surprised. Every customer who has ordered movies from SAE, should've received that same email notification today. If you've checked your email it should be in your inbox.

As someone here who has been designing websites since the year 1996, I actually have memories flooding back about Geocities and older, antiquated websites. Back then it was less style and more substance. We didn't have mobile phones and none of us web designers had to take into account the mobile user experience. I still prefer browsing the web on my laptop with my giant Apple cinema display attached via USB-C to my Macbook Pro. I remember when websites used to all look like the Screen Archives website, but that wasn't a problem for me. I've noticed a distinct trend in the "less is more" streamlined/sleeker website approach nowadays. Nothing wrong with less is more, but when you eliminate the basic functionality of easy navigation and links, not to mention sorting and isotope functions, the UI/UX experience is far less efficient.

With that said, kudos to Screen Archives for acquiring TT.

I wonder if that means we'll get any titles that were already licensed and just not put into production.

Also I like the SAE site. It is much better then all these terrible mobile friendly sites.
