I was just going to ask that.

I've only once gotten a defective disc, and it was direct from TT rather than from SAE. TT's Customer Service asked me to send the disc back, they checked it to confirm it had the problem I said, and sent a replacement. No fuss, no muss.

My experience with Screen Archives has been good. I had a disc that I found out a few months after purchasing it that it was defective, and contacted SAE about possibly getting a replacement. It was a Twilight Time title that they still had in stock at that point and they sent me the replacement disc.

162 here, but left them in their original case so blue and clear. Not going to replace the blues just to make it look like the picture above.

As a side note, quickdraw can eliminate the temptation by remembering Twilight Time is no longer in business, so you can't order from them and have to deal with their customer service.

Don't know why really, but that pic is cool

It was with Twilight Time. They kept telling me it was the player (Panny) that was the problem but the disk would hang in the same place on both my player and PS3 on the original disk and the replacement, but they wouldn't relent.

Yup, I don’t have many of the earlier titles, and SAE sent me free clear cases for the very few that were still blue, so

I've replaced most of my "blue case" releases with clear cases except for the first release of "Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia" and "Major Dundee" but both of those are on my Sam Peckinpah shelf so I'm not too hung up about them not having a clear case.

Well, then as now, ordering from Screen Archives was always an option but seeing as the people who ran both the Twilight Time label and the website are no longer involved anymore, you should definitely be able to order whatever is still available without any concern.

Seeing as the Paramount Presents line uses the same clear cases that Twilight Time did, I have been using them to swap out the rogue blue cases in my TT collection. Couldn't care less what the case is under those PP slipcovers, but I currently have all my TT's arranged like Brandon K above, so having all clear cases suits my anal retentiveness. 97 in my collection and down to just two blue cases. And, I shuffled them to the very end of the line so they don't stick out so much.

So, in today's mail, I got a letter from FedEx concerning one of my orders from Twilight Time back in June 23, 2020 (6 Months ago!!!!). I had ordered 8 Blurays at $11.95USD each. Here's the break down in costs:

Customs Duty - $4.37 CAD
Canada HST - $17.40 CAD
Clearance Entry Fee - $25.50 CAD
Advancement Fee - $10.00 CAD
HST on ADV/Ancillary Service Fees - $4.62 CAD
Total - $61.89 CAD

I'm shocked that not only am I getting this but 6 months later. It's highway robbery. I also heard of if the blurays are manufactured in North America, there is no Duty fees. I just don't know what to do with this.

Per Screen Archives Facebook page:

Quote:
Screen Archives Entertainment is very grateful to Twilight Time co-founders Brian Jamieson and the late Nick Redman for allowing us to continue the Twilight Time brand with two new selections to be announced soon. Mike Finnegan and others who help Brian and Nick produce the Twilight Time blu-rays were a first-rate team. We have been fortunate to secure Mike's services to ensure we match the earlier titles quality. We have changed the final package only slightly, as many of you will recognize the outstanding graphics of designer Jim Titus. We have additional titles in various stages of production now, and hope to accelerate our release schedule in the future. Even though we started with the last release under Brian and Nick, the lead time for the production of each blu-ray is several months, made even slower under COVID. There are many complexities involved in acquiring the materials, licensing, checks, double-checks, and rechecks regarding quality before authoring and compression. And captioning. Finally, we had to find a provider to press the discs and print in the quantity that we are licensed to produce. Many of you have suggested titles, so feel free to send any suggestions, ideas, or comments to info@screenarchives. We won't respond to every message, but it will be useful to hear from you

Hopefully the TT deal with Universal is still in play and more titles from them are on the way.

Universal titles are already being released by Shout, Kino and Universal themselves. I'd kind of rather see them release titles from a different studio.

Similar thing happened to me recently. I got a FedEx invoice for more than $50 (on a $100 shipment) more than five months after delivery of the Twilight Time order. I called FedEx to (nicely) express my concerns and they reduced the charges to just the HST, so you might want to give that a try.

I called this months ago. Didn't make sense for them to purchase the brand if they had no intention of using it. Hopefully they can work out something with Disney to keep the Fox deep cuts coming.

Well, that's a nice Christmas surprise! The only slight damper on this is the Fox/Disney thing. If they're only going to be pulling from the Sony and Universal catalogs, I can't see that many titles that wouldn't be also picked up by Indicator or Eureka. My favorite thing about TT was their relationship with Fox, and unless they suddenly decided to get their head out of their ass(doubtful), I'm hoping they still had a couple of leftover titles from the last Fox deal. There are quite a few titles already restored in 4K that I could only see coming from them(The Turning Point, Teenage Rebel). Barring that, hopefully they can get Flower Drum Song. Kino isn't interested, it's already been restored, and Nick worked on the dvd extras. Here's hoping!
