Does anyone know if the Seven Deaths release is a new master or the same that 88 released some years back? The color timing was controversial with that one.

This is what Screen Archives replied about it:

Quote:
SEVEN DEATHS, which has an opening card labeling it as a 2K restoration by Rewind Films, is a dark genre film with a few sequences of dimly-lit interiors in which it is hard to make things out. We used the best HD Master possible from Rewind, and saw no need on our end to generate improvements. The transfer had no particular "blue tint" bias.
That sounds to me it will most likely be the same master the 88 Films release utilized on their release, but someone will need to confirm it first to be sure.

I'm definitely going to wait for some reviews or comparisons first before ordering it...

Mine is out for delivery. This is one I'm surprised BU didn't release on Blu-ray as they had the rights for years in the US. Oh well, at least it finally has a Region A release.

Yeah I wondered if some titles Blue Underground had aren't with them anymore? If SDitCE is any indication then I hope someone like TT or VS has Black Belly of the Tarantula and Case of the Bloody Iris that BU had.

It looks like both of those are still with BU according to Amazon prime, but that can always change as who knows how long they still have the rights for. Seven Deaths was up on Amazon Prime until recently.

Thanks for that information.

Ya, once I saw that possibly Lustig is 'maybe' still claiming rights, I wasn't going to take any chances and have it turn into another Django/Zombie situation. Ordered it immediately in case any rights dispute arose, and got it in yesterday with "Messalina" as well.

Yeah, anything Lustig once owned could be a risky deal.

Just finished watching Seven Deaths in a Cats Eye and I'm pretty sure it's the same transfer as UK edition. I didn't think it was too dark, but that's just me. I watched it in Italian and the one thing I didn't like is that that the subtitles are kind of in a box with a black background. It makes it easy to see the subtitles, but you lose a little bit of picture. Still, it was fine overall.

Does anyone here have Twilight Time's releases of Don't Bother to Knock and No Down Payment? How are the transfers?

Are there ever any sales on TT titles? Maybe on other sites? If so, who should I follow to find out?

ScreenArchives sometimes does like 10% or 20% off, but it's nothing major.

I've found a few for really cheap on HamiltonBook too (Carla's Song is one that I remember, still in stock at $6.95).

Twilight Time sales are rare, like Olive, or not much off, like Scream Factory.

Having the titles you want saved on eBay might get you a few lucky, low-priced finds sometimes.

If you’re trying to source certain titles, the original Twilight Time shutdown last year after the passing of one of the label’s founders. The business name itself was resurrected, but the majority of older original releases are mostly out of print and/or are increasingly more expensive to get a hold of. Even the OP hasn’t been thoroughly updated in quite awhile as many titles that have already sold out are still showing as “available.” Just heads up since it looks like you don’t post here much.

Scratched out quantities are from 1/19/21 and 2/18/21. Bolded titles were licensed from Fox.

All of these were added to Hamilton Book on August 24, 2020, and as far as I know no additional titles have been added after that date.
