Looks like SAE has now done away with the cart trick for the autographed editions. You used to be able to see them sell down with the old cart trick (after under 50 copies), but now it defaults to only 1 in your cart no matter how many are left. I guess that prevents someone from trying to snatch multiples and inadvertently tying up the stock.

Not a fan of Fabulous Baker Boys, but I wanted 4 titles so went for the freebie anyway.

Even though the promo is still available, I'll probably pass since the 5 titles I'd get total would still be cheaper later when they do the anniversary sale.

Yeah, I may very well move Baker Boys to make up the difference.

So, this, added to the "once they're gone, they're gone" which proved to be false (Fright Night, Mysterious Island, Journey to the Center of the Earth, etc.), the choice of movies being less and less interesting than at the beginning, five releases priced $29.95 every month, limited editions of 5.000 copies that end up being sold for much cheaper with more extras elsewhere (Zardoz), etc.

Well, it obviously now makes me wait before I buy their Blu-ray.

Their fifth anniversary sale should be at the end of March/beginning of April (at least, that's when the fourth anniv. sale was last year). I'm holding out until then myself, even though there's at least 2 titles a month from Jan-April that I want. Unless I see a low quantity alert on any of those titles I'm interested in (in which case I'll buy then and there), I'm waiting until then.

In the past couple of years TT has had an anniversary sale on March 26 through Screen Archives. During these sales, TT releases were discounted $10 off list price. It remains to be seen whether they'll have one this year or whether it will be through Screen Archives, their own site, or both.

I see.
I thought since SAE's sale was very recently last December we wouldn't have any sale soon.
So, if I buy a TT title until then, I'll buy one of the latest ones, because i assume the most recent titles won't be part of the sale.

Good to know about that anniversary sale. I was going to pick up a few titles, but I'll probably just wait. Too many other things I'm needing to get anyway. I see the low stock update in the OP hasn't been updated since the first of November. Anyone know when that will be updated again?

That being said, I remember the anniversary sale last year DID NOT include the titles from January and February (or March for that matter). It capped with the December releases.

Hopefully that sale does happen. There's a few titles I've been wanting real bad.

I have quite a few TT movies but have been buying very few as of late. Bought 4 during the last sale though. Having more frequent sales, numerous reissues and upping the quantity to 5000 on more popular movies certainly takes the "buy it now before they're gone" factor out of the equation (as mentioned above).

Going forward I'll have to be even more selective since the UHD BD format will be getting most of my money. I wonder if/when TT will be on board for that?

It's also worth keeping in mind that the sales don't include every title. It's a selected group of titles, which tend not to include their best-selling ones.
