Thanks for the heads up on the Coupon!, I also did not receive an email, I'm on their email list but I never receive emails and I still have no clue as to why!? I'm glad I check back here regularly on the Forum for the latest news, info., etc.

I was placing my order last night and had an important phone call which caused me to omit one item I wanted.
I emailed SAE immediately last night to see if I could cancel the order and use the promotion code again for a new order with all the items I wanted. I haven't received a reply and the code doesn't work for a second order.

Just want to say that I had a slight overreaction when I said Bound for Glory didn't look great - now that I've fully watched the disc it's clear that a lot of the exterior moving shots the film is famous for do actually look exceptional. Interior scenes look a bit less great but I'm still pretty happy with the overall presentation.

And the film is even better than I remembered which is an even bigger plus.

Don't have the funds to get everything on my wish list but put in an order for Used Cars. I haven't searched the thread but I'm still kind of shocked it isn't OOP yet, with its low quantity alert a few months ago.

I have good memories of it and seeing Kurt in Hateful Eight recently made me realize I need more of his work in my collection.

I think Blue Max was the last title to go OOP and that was over 6 months ago. 10 movies went OOP last year but none since 7/9/15.

Either we're due for another slew of movies to go OOP, or sales have slowed in general on TT movies.

I emailed for a cancellation as well and have not heard back. Usually they are good about getting back right away.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were closed today, that part of VA may have had a lot of snow.

DRB124:

Yeah, I was thinking the snow might be a factor. I hope they give me some leeway and let me cancel the order and make a second order with the extra item including the 20% off.

Well despite my emails requesting cancellation on Friday as well as another on Monday, I get a shipping confirmation on my first order today. I just sent them another email and I get no tracking info if I click through the tracking number, so I hope they may be able to pull it back. I am sure they will make it right somehow. I have yet to have any trouble with them.

Speaking from personal experience and being region-free, I'm more prone to wait on an international release of a title when they can often be had for half the price. IF there's a sellout scare on a TT title that I really want in the meantime, or when a title is offered from them that I must have now, I'll hustle to grab it while it's still available for sale. The limited edition (once they're gone, they're gone forever!) hype that we all bought into in the beginning has certainly waned over the past couple years, and I think that has probably slowed sales a bit too. I still love my TT titles (33 and counting) and feel that they run a great business, but it's great to have other options too.

They also have more competition for the dollar than in the past. Kino Lorber has got in the game with lots of classic releases, and Olive has stepped up as well. There were nearly 700 new-to-Blu catalog releases last year (up from less than 500 in 2014)

And then you have Arrow U.S. and more and more movies released by TT getting superior versions overseas that gives people more cause to wait (besides the more frequent sales and international versions for half the price).

Don't forget the competition that each Twilight Time title faces from all of the other Twilight Time titles. There are now about (if my count is correct) 185 TT blu ray releases, with 28 now OOP. As each month brings another four or five shiny new titles, it increases the likelihood that older titles will languish, unloved and unsold.

This may or may not mean that Twilight Time's overall sales are up or down, I have no way of knowing.

Yes, it could very well be that TT is releasing more than its market will bear. Ideally of course a distributor will release at a rate where they maximize overall sales without releasing too many new movies that steal sales from its older releases (which then start a vicious cycle of more frequent sales and increased markdowns)

To follow up, Screen Archives is allowing me to cancel all but 3 items in my second order and reducing the shipping to what it would cost if the items had been added to my original order. So I have no complaints. Customer service goes a long way with me.

Just as an update, SAE was closed Friday and Monday and only got in mid-afternoon today from the sound of it. So the storm was the cause of any delays in responding.

I've never had any problems with SAE, having placed over 30 orders from them so far (and having canceled a few as well, mainly signed promos that disappear from from cart during the payment process).

That is reading more into it than was there. TT never claimed gone forever. All they ever had was a three year exclusive window to release a limited edition title. If it sold out, that was all there would be for three years. After that, they made no promises. The studio could have released it themselves or sold the home-release rights to another company.

I am ecstatic TT is re-releasing some of the popular titles that sold out already. Many of their titles absolutely deserve to be owned by more than 3000 people who may want a copy.

And some of their 2011-2012 titles should have sold out loooong ago. Rapture is fantastic. The fact that it still sits available in no way reflects negatively on the film. If anything, it just means there is still an opportunity for more people out there to see it and have a real surprise in store when they do. I doubt few here had ever heard of it before TT released it, but I guarantee those who took a chance and purchased it will never forget it.

Okay, maybe "gone forever" was overkill, but hype was definitely there. Not from TT, no, but from from the average consumer wanting to get a title before scalpers loaded up on what they figured would be the hot sellers on the aftermarket. It's nice that it's not as common of an occurrence anymore.

Agreed on your stance on Rapture though, as well as many others, too. Never would have seen or heard of many of these titles had it not been for following TT and this thread.
