I agree TT has released a lot of gems (although I have a soft spot for their earlier movies like Swamp Water and The Wayward Bus, not to mention Rapture). That's why I've bought so many of them. Their titles are getting more loaded with special features all the time. Glad to see Nick Redman doing so many commentaries and I really appreciate all the work he does, as well as the signed promos.

My CD soundtrack of Absolute Beginners that I ordered from Amazon immediately after watching the Twilight Time Blu-ray a couple of weeks ago showed up in the mail yesterday, and I had a blast listening to it on the way to work. Sadly, it appears that the CD has jacked up in price since I ordered it, so it's probably tougher to find now.

Such an underrated Twilight Time title, in my opinion.

DRB124:

SAE cancelled my first order and allowed me to place a new order with a cd added and the 20% off---that's good customer service.

I hope TT updates their low quantity count soon. It's been a while. I'm also looking forward to seeing what they are releasing May and June (I'm guessing they'll announce them a week from this Saturday).

I think you're exactly right with them announcing a week from Saturday. Looking forward to that. Also been wondering when the next low quantity alert is going to be...you'd think they had the figures from the holiday sale in by now, but who knows? Time will tell, I guess.

First post has been updated with latest low quantity alert. I re-ordered the list posted on the Twilight Time facebook page to show titles in order of quantity remaining.

Two new entries: Judgment at Nuremberg and Mysterious Island reissue. Two excellent films.

It is great to see a powerful, well written, and incredibly acted drama like Judgment at Nuremberg doing so well. Burt Lancaster, Spencer Tracy, Montgomery Clift, Maximilian Schell, Richard Widmark, and a host of other stars.....keep the 1950s and 1960s classics coming Twilight Time.

Titles closest to being sellouts: Used Cars (less than 150 remaining) and Journey to the Center of the Earth reissue (less than 200 remaining out of 5,000 units).

I am surprised that Experiment in Terror has not sold out yet. Getting there slowly.

In Like Flint has been on the list the longest, at under 500 for over a year, now down under 400.

Rapture still isn't on the list. Come on, people. Trust me on this one. It is the oldest remaining TT title in terms of release date. Still one of their best, and my personal favorite. A stellar drama with wonderful performances, it surprised me, moved me, and when it was over I could not believe I had never heard of it before. One of the best blind buys I have ever made. Patricia Gozzi is my vote for best child/teenage actress ever, and one of the great "what ifs" of cinema had she continued her career.

"Rapture" and "Experiment In Terror" are two that I plan on including with my next order. I don't think I'll be disappointed in either.

I bought The Blue Max last year the day it went out of print. I tried watching it twice but family came to visit. I was never able to finish the movie. Now, I finally finished watching the movie. The aerial shots are amazing! A very good war film. If you haven't seen, watch it!

I blind bought Experiment in Terror in the last 2 months and loved it. Took me awhile to get into the deliberately paced rhythm of the movie (sort of like Hitchcock's The Wrong Man if I'm remembering correctly from watching it years ago) - but once I did, wow. As a baseball fan, I also loved the scenes in old Candlestick Park and seeing Don Drysdale on the mound in an uncredited appearance.

Have never seen Rapture but definitely want to based on the recommendations here.

MARTIN 31:

Peter Jackson owns one of the Pfalz DIIIs built for THE BLUE MAX.
He also owns a scarf worn by Manfred von Richthofen.

The Blue Max is a film I have liked since I first saw it on TV in the 1980s. Before TT released it, I always included it on my list of most wanted films on Blu-ray. One of the most visceral WWI aerial combat films ever, with real flying, including from lead George Peppard. It was made before CGI, so what you see is either model effects or the real deal.

And for those who are not aware, the director John Guillermin is also the director of Rapture. In fact, The Blue Max (1966) was his next project after Rapture (1965).

I'll be careful to avoid a minor spoiler here, regarding EXPERIMENT IN TERROR.

I saw it second-run in 1963, when I was ten years old. There's a particular scene in which a character briefly appears in drag. Most if not all of us baby boomer kids had never heard of such a thing, back then. Although it's a dramatic scene, the audience laughed nervously during that moment. We younger folk weren't quite sure what we were seeing.

MOST WANTED BDs:
HARDCORE, HUSH HUSH SWEET CHARLOTTE, THE BOSTON STRANGLER, PRIVATE PARTS (1972), RED SKY AT MORNING, 8MM, SHOCK TREATMENT (1964), THE INCIDENT, WHERE THE LILIES BLOOM, THE HOUSE THAT SCREAMED, THE GLASS MENAGERIE (1987), EFFECT OF GAMMA RAYS ON MAN-IN-THE-MOON MARIGOLDS, HOMICIDAL, GIRLS TOWN (1959).

Rapture fans:

Don't forget to check out Patricia Gozzi in her 1962 starring role too, Sundays and Cybéle.

I think it was over a year ago that TT mentioned they have this in their queue. I have never seen it, but based on what I have read it is most definitely a title I am interested in. Highly rated film, another that is just about forgotten or most have never heard of.

Releasing titles like this and Rapture, lost-in-the-vault gems awaiting discovery by new generations, are what I really appreciate and like most about Twilight Time.

I never get tired of watching Gamma Rays even after multiple viewings, I'll be buying it for sure when it comes out. Joanne Woodward is absolutely riveting in this, imo her best performance.

That is what made The Blue Max stand out. The real aerial footage. If it was made today, everything would be CGI. Unrealistic.

Depends on who's doing the CG and how it's photographed & graded.
