Patricia Gozzi is my vote for best child/teenage actress ever, and one of the great "what ifs" of cinema had she continued her career.
I completely and totally agree!

I've said it before and I'll say it again: if Rapture had been released by Criterion, a lot more people would be waxing poetic about what a great film it is.

Patricia Gozzi is amazing in this film as well.

One of my Holy Grails of film is to see her final film Le Grabuge which was made in 1973. I've read online that the studio destroyed the negatives so it may be a lost film.

As a baseball fan, I also loved the scenes in old Candlestick Park and seeing Don Drysdale on the mound in an uncredited appearance.

Have never seen Rapture but definitely want to based on the recommendations here.
...and that's Vin Scully w/ the play by play for the action. He is STILL doing play by play for the Dodgers, which is an absolutely insane thought... what longevity.

I could listen to him describe a trip to the toilet. wonderful man.

Yes, that's right! I'd forgotten I'd noticed Vin Scully as well.

I also feel like I had taken note of a few other baseball players I was familiar with (beyond Don Drysdale) when I watched Experiment In Terror, but my memory is failing me now.

When my baseball team travels west to play the Dodgers each summer, I make it a note to watch and listen to the Dodgers broadcast feed just to hear Mr. Scully. He's been doing their games going back to their Brooklyn days and even at his age, he broadcasts the game all by by himself, with no broadcast partner. Remarkable. He is slowing down these days though, doing less games. If you are a baseball fan, you have to listen to him at least once. He is the end of an era and a total class act. And as many know, his last name was given to the Dana Scully character on The X-Files TV show by it's creator Chris Carter out of respect for him.

I wonder if Mysterious Island will be still there until March when there is said to be a possible anniversary sale..

I could see it still being in stock but if they get low enough on QTY I wonder if they will discount it? I know the last sale a few months back there were some titles they did not discount at all.

PowellPressburger is right. The anniversary sales are not across the entire catalog, but only offer selected titles. It may be a substantial number of them, but they are still selected. And they tend not to select titles that are selling quickly. The sales are generally an opportunity to unload slow-selling stock.

According to the latest LQA, Mysterious Island still somewhere in the vicinity of 1000 copies, so I don't expect it to disappear overnight. But if you want it, you should go for it sooner rather than later.

The movies I want that I don't think will crop up in a sale I just save up for a signed promo that I also want. That way you can still get it at a reduced price (if you value the signed promo at the same price as the others, but I tend to value it more, since the autograph gives it a personal touch and makes it more unique).

These days the only time I'll pay the full price (that's not part of a signed promo deal) is when it's expected to sell out soon.

It's unlikely to be discounted given there are less than 1,000 (20%) remaining after a month and a half after release.

I wouldn't wait on Mysterious Island. Why chance missing out on a great bd to save a few bucks? It may never see another HD release (at least on Blu-ray).

I just received my package of Twilight Time titles and I loved how SAE packaged them. They arrived in a form-fitting blu-ray packaged mailer box and all 3 blu-rays were enclosed in a bubble wrapped pocket. It was perfect. I'm always ordering TT titles from Screen Archives from now on.

That's how I get them from SAE, but only if you order at least 3 at a time. I rarely order less than 3 though, to save a few bucks on shipping.

Watched Mysterious Island a couple of days ago. Fun movie, had my 5 year old grandkid enjoying the "scary" parts too. For me the interest was in the special effects but the story was really pretty darn good.

This is your first order from them, correct? The one thing you'll notice about Screen Archives is that when you order Twilight Time titles during sales, promos, pre-orders, or any other busy periods, they tend to be S-L-O-W in getting the orders out, but anything with three or more blu-rays are always packaged impeccably. Even the handful of their titles that I ordered that were in eco-cases arrived unscathed. And their shipping rates to Canada are really reasonable which is why I've stuck with them.

My only quibble with SAE - and it is very small - is that their shipping rates are a little high. I am happy to pay them as I am proud to support TT and do occasionally buy soundtracks, but they don't really reflect the speed with which SAE sometimes ships - as you mention. For example, I have a 6-CD set in my shopping cart right now which costs $99. Shipping from VA to MA is indicated at almost $13. I'd expect 2-day guaranteed delivery at that price, but it could take a week or more to get to me.
