Who is the "they" you're talking about? I made this order from TT directly, not from SAE.

Edit: Or order direct from Twilight Time.
It seems odd to me, because everything was running smoothly just a few days ago. I don't know what could have changed since then.

Thanks for the link. I have to admit that I don't understand all the technicalities of those tests, but I do see the so-so grading.

That is correct. Twilight Time does not sell copies of films that are already sold out.

If the titles are sold out, that means that there are no more copies to sell. So, no, TT doesn't sell sold-out titles.

On edit: Actually, there was one instance in which TT offered something that was technically sold out. They had 60 copies of the Fright Night reissue sitting around that were intended for replacing defective copies. After enough time had passed, and it was clear they wouldn't need the replacements anymore, they offered them on the first day they took orders from their (then new) own website to the first 60 people who ordered all five of the new releases on offer that day. It was a freebie, like the signed promos they offer through SAE, except that it was unsigned.

When TT/SAE have sales, they won't even offer titles that are low in quantity. The sales are there to prompt people into buying the titles that are selling slowly.

Wow, there are still autographed copies of Summer Lovers available.

I indulged since I wanted a lot of the new releases.

I was surprised to see that the autograph special is still available so I placed an order before they run out. Grabbed a few titles I had been putting off for a while and also snagged Where the Sidewalk Ends.

I checked their facebook page a couple times this week looking to see if/when the next autograph promo would be and never saw anything. This one wasn't promoted as heavily. Glad I happened to see this thread and that copies were still available!

Ordered:
SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SHERIFF/GUNFIGHTER
THE LAST DETAIL
HAWAII
THE HAWAIIANS
SUMMER LOVERS (signed)

Twilight Time.

No big deal anymore. I got a shipping email this morning. I guess I should have known I would the day after I posted.

Last promo it took me two days to pull the trigger. I'll probably have that long to decide this time as well. Remember the days where 4 minutes meant it took longer than usual to sell out.

I pulled the trigger on four titles and the autographed copy of Summer Lovers. I was planning on ordering the reissue of The Big Heat anyway. I'm a fan of Michelle Pfeiffer and Isabelle Adjani, so I picked up The Fabulous Baker Boys and The Story of Adele H. (both blind buys, although I've seen bits of TFBB). I rounded out my order with the 3D Harlock movie, which looks good, if nothing else (and I have a 3DTV). I used to own Summer Lovers, but I sold my copy when I needed money last year. The movie isn't a masterpiece, but I enjoyed it. The movie is a bit like going on a vacation with two lovely ladies in the 1980s when times were simpler and you were younger. There's plenty of eye candy and a vintage 80s soundtrack.

With The Big Heat available again, and The Big Sleep and Key Largo coming next week, this is a great month for film noir.

If you recall, we moved the signed copy promotions away from pre-order day to allow more folk the chance to obtain one - we had so many complaints that they went so fast - now you are catty because they take a day or two to sell out? Get your priorities straight, man!

I sure hope this post was in jest because I don't think he, nor anyone else, is being catty about it, in fact we're all pretty grateful that they don't sell out in two minutes flat.

My Blu-rays of Where the Sidewalk Ends, The Big Heat, Cowboy, and La Bombola di Satana arrived today. Woo hoo!

This was my first time ordering directly from Twilight Time, and I'm pleased with their service.

I'll still do business with Screen Archives, of course, for various Code Red and Scorpion discs.

I'm expecting mine tomorrow (except with the Support Your Local two-fer instead of La Bombola).

I figured as much, but you never know!

BTW, keep up the good work with the signed promos. This month's film is not my cup of tea, but I look forward each month to seeing whose signature you've managed to snag for these.
