That was three years ago and you can get it dirt cheap from Sony now, so get over it.

I'm in for four of the five new releases, plus about a dozen in my SAE wishlist. Holding off to see if there is an anniversary sale, although I'm well aware that newer titles may be excluded if it does happen. May have to order Exodus anyway. Never seen it, but I'm always interested in films shot in 70mm. And of course, it's Preminger.

I did. But sony does not have the isolated score or a booklet.

But if it was something you like that you did not get i am sure you would be upset too.

What are you willing to pay for the TT version?

Amazon

Since last year's anniversary sale was on March 25th, it looks like the wise move would be for me to wait on Fate Is The Hunter, and Cowboy.

Grab my copy of Gilda from Amazon, by March 31st, and my Glenn Ford craving will be satisfied once more.

There have been plenty of things that I did not get that made me upset. You learn to live with it and move on.

Funny thing.

After TT wouldn't commit to refunding me I said screw it and reordered everything again, but this time from Amazon.

Wouldn't you know it, the original order finally showed up a few days later - 2months after the order was placed.

So now I was stuck with duplicates and out roughly $500 total.

I then got an email from the person at TT I was dealing with who said they'd issue me a refund - I thanked them but informed them the order finally arrived.

So I then went and contacted the seller I bought via Amazon who thankfully said they'd take the movies back I'd just have to pay shipping.

So in the end it all worked out.

Hello,

I have recently developed an interest on twilight time releases. Before I go ahead and order several titles, I wanted to ask a question here. Is there ever any sales on these titles?

thanks

Generally speaking, no. The profit margin on these doesn't really allow for any kind of regular price discounting.

But back in March 2014, and again in March 2015, Twilight Time and Screen Archives Entertainment held sales in honor of TT's third and fourth anniversaries. In both cases, they offered selected titles (the slower-selling ones) for $10 off the regular price. In 2014, they offered 36 titles at this discount price, one for each month TT had been in business. In 2015, they offered 96 titles (two for every month they'd been in business).

Whether they have a fifth anniversary sale this month or not is unknown. The previous two times they didn't give a lot of notice, presumably because they didn't want to kill sales completely in the meantime. The 2014 sale started on March 19, and the 2015 sale started on March 25.

Screen Archives also did a TT sale (same discounts) this past Nov/Dec. I don't recall if they ever gave a reason for it, but I assume it was an extended Black Friday thing. They offered the sale price on 60 selected TT titles.

On edit: I should mention that the sales don't include recent releases (if there's a sale later this month, I wouldn't count on anything released this January or later to be offered). So you'd be fairly safe buying anything released this year. The sales also don't include titles on their Low Quantity Alert list, so if you want any of those, you shouldn't wait for the sale. You can find the LQA list in post #1 of this thread.

On edit again: It's possible that the LQA titles that are still up around a thousand or more -- Mysterious Island, Zardoz, and Vampires -- would be included in a hypothetical upcoming sale, but I wouldn't count on it.

Oh that's a happy ending indeed! Great to hear! I shall hold out hope that my shipment arrives later this month--my small SAE package is probably sitting in the Canada Post Calgary distribution centre, languishing on a dusty shelf until a bored postal clerk notices it. Did your package look worse for wear?

Don't know if it applies to Twilight Time, but on the home page at SAE, there's a note saying:

Like” Screen Archives on Facebook and receive advance notice of a special sale to be announced soon!

I assumed it was the anniversary sale but maybe not.

Last year during the month long sale, a couple of sale titles did indeed sell out. PICNIC and LEAVE HER TO HEAVEN. But they were only $5 off instead of $10. And BELL, BOOK AND CANDLE sold out a few days after the sale ended and it was also $24.95.

I don't think USED CARS, JOURNEY TO CENTER OF THE EARTH, SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE, EXPERIMENT IN TERROR and the THUNDERBIRDS DOUBLE FEATURE will be part of the sale. And titles like IN LIKE FLINT, JUDGEMENT AT NUREMBERG, THE BLUE LAGOON and FIRST MEN IN THE MOON will probably be $24.95.

I don't know why there wouldn't be another sale knowing so many fans and collectors are waiting for it. They had lots of problems last year with shipping everything as there were tons of complaints for delayed shipping. If they're not prepared for another onslaught, this could be a reason not to have the sale. But, they will be missing out on a lot of money if they don't have the sale. I bet they sell more TT titles in that one month sale than they do for the entire summer months of May thru August.

There are more important things to get upset over than blu rays, even for movies that I like.

It still very well could be the anniversary sale and whoever responded either wasn't thinking that note was there or they just don't know when yet.
