Ice Station Zebra is so poor a movie that it boggles the mind, with its appallingly phony sets (plastic snow, no wind, no actor's breaths), horrendous acting and languorous pace containing zilch in the way of excitement.

The $7 I spent on the DVD is one of the worst investments I've ever made.

I will agree on this. Just a terrible, terrible film. Even Ebert gave that turkey 1 star!

Picked up with the promo

10 Rillington Place
Cutter's Way
Chato's Land
From the Terrace

As well as a few code red titles. I was looking at Black Widow as well but just stumbled onto the UK Signal One release that has a few more extras than the TT and went with that since I am region free. Although I much prefer the TT cover art. I hope there will still be a sale at some point soon because I do have quite a few titles I would like to pick up.

I got the autographed 10 TO MIDNIGHT along with 1984, SENSE AND SENSIBILITY, SHADOWS AND FOG, and PONY SOLDIER (the oldest title I still needed). I also added Code Red's TRAPPED to by order because it looked too awesome to pass up.

Well, let's see...

As of their most recent pre-orders, they've put out 199 distinct titles. Of those 199 films, I hadn't heard of 14 prior to their TT releases.

So, I guess the answer is "yes".

Big popular movies get their releases straight from the studios still. For the most part labels like Twilight Time, Kino and Arrow are for movies the studios don't want to bother with, which are usually much more niche by definition. In other words, that's a really silly complaint against TT considering the point of their existence.

Seven of the titles released by TT were released on DVD by Fox as part of their "Studio Classics" line. Another seven were released by Sony on DVD as part of their "Columbia Classics" line.

Seventeen of the titles released by TT were nominated for Best Picture Oscars, with three of them winning. Among those are also nine Best Director nominations (three wins), with another four of those for films that didn't get nominations for Best Picture.

Calling these (and many of the others released by TT) "niche" is absurd. Seriously, these are "niche"?...

No, as they market exclusively to people with brain injuries, labotomies and Alzheimer's disease.

No that's not the question. The question should be do they ever release more than one good one to every 10 ho hum forgettable films from back in the day?
