I just re-watched my old copy of Zelig and had forgotten what a funny and truly brilliant movie it was. I'll definitely be pre-ordering this one

Tony Rome quotes:

I know the rules of evidence. When you've been arrested as many times as me, it's the same as going to law school.

Police can't break-in without a warrant, only a criminal civilian can do that.

-Have you ever been to Buffalo?
-Never. I promised myself when I was ten years old.

I only buy blu-rays I like and want to own so I've never understood why people want to know if the quantity is under a certain number before they purchase it. Am I the only one that thinks this way?

No, you're not but, as I understand it, some people have a long wish list and can only afford so many titles at a time. Hence, the more expensive titles seem to sit on their list for awhile but if it's close to selling out people will move it up and make a purchase to avoid missing out.

I suppose it depends on the number of movies a person likes and wants to own, they may have to put a few on the back burner and if quantities are getting low, it's time to buy.

Very true. However there are also people who get off on owning something OOP, just because it is.

There's also the re-sale crowd; obviously once things are gone they can be advertised as such on ebay.

Speaking of Woody Allen movies ... I watched Broadway Danny Rose over the weekend. It was my first time seeing it. Liked it a lot. I was surprised how much it reminded me of his earlier films. It had that same wit about it. Then again, maybe that's true of all Woody Allen movies.

Canada Postal Strike Looms....Do any Canadian Collectors here know what is going to happen to our orders from S.A.E. once it reaches our Border? I have an order that is supposed to be shipped July 12, a Pre-order and some past Sale items, I'm a bit worried.

His filmography sort of moves in waves with heavier vs lighter, that's in the middle of a lighter section (Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy, Zelig, Purple Rose of Cairo). I liked it quite a bit, too. Not all of his films have similar wit/humor to the early films, that's for sure. Stuff like Crimes & Misdemeanors or Deconstructing Harry is REALLY heavy (but with a lot of bitter humor)

Bitter humor can be good ... depending on how it's done.

According to the CBC, if there's a Canada Post shutdown, no new parcels will be received at the border. I don't know if that means packages will sit somewhere at the border until a possible lockout ends, or if the packages just get sent back to the senders via the original USA delivery system, i.e. USPS (which tend to ship the SAE orders across the border to Canada Post). According to the tracking info, my SAE sale order left the USA on July 2, but it's in that period between USA tracking and an update from Canada Post--if a lockout does occur, I hope that it's at least received by CP and sits in a processing hub until an agreement is hammered out.

I talked with someone from Canada Post today, He told Me nothing will be sent back internationally but will be held, so I'm assuming like you said that it will sit until an agreement is worked out. "In" Canada items will not be accepted at the Post Office for Delivery, so only other Carriers (UPS,Purolater, etc.) can deliver.

Apologies for not going through so many pages of old posts, but I saw a post in another thread that Twilight Time has said they will no longer reissue titles. Was this specific to a particular title or was it a blanket statement for all titles? Just curious as I got water damage to the Sinbads and had hoped to replace them. Thanks.

They just casually said in an interview or something that they don't plan to do any more reissues after the last agreement they signed. They could change their minds, who knows. Either way you should import the region free Australian Sinbad releases if you need new discs.

It was a blanket statement for all titles. They seemed to get too many, relatively speaking, complaints from some folks complaining that their limited copy was no longer limited and how it wasn't fair that they could no longer enjoy their movie.

You can see their point. I mean, how can anyone possibly enjoy a movie knowing up to 6000 people own it on Blu-ray instead of just up to 3000?

So more extras are added. I was going to buy it even if it only included the isolated score, but there are more reason to buy it now!
