I'd say it'll probably be a fairly brisk seller at the front end, but will slow down after the die-hard fans get their copies, and take a good while to sell out.

I'm still waiting...I ordered "Miss Sadie Thompson" and 5 promotional items from last months sale, I guess the "Miss Sadie Thompson" Blu-ray is holding up the Order, I heard there was a delay on it.

JUDGMENT AT NUREMBERG - fewer than 100 copies remaining
SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE - fewer than 100 copies remaining FIRST MEN IN THE MOON - fewer 150 copies remaining (out of 5,000) CRIMES AND MISDEMEANORS - fewer than 150 copies remaining THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO/THUNDERBIRD 6 - fewer than 200 copies remaining IN LIKE FLINT - fewer than 200 copies remaining THE BLUE LAGOON - fewer than 300 copies remaining MAJOR DUNDEE - fewer than 300 copies remaining A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS - fewer than 300 copies remaining DEMETRIUS AND THE GLADIATORS - fewer than 500 copies remaining THE MECHANIC - fewer than 500 copies remaining John Carpenter's VAMPIRES - fewer than 550 units remaining (out of 5,000) (remaining stock only available at http://www.twilighttimemovies.com) KHARTOUM - fewer than 550 copies remaining Four new titles enter the list: A Man for All Seasons, Demetrius and the Gladiators, The Mechanic, and Khartoum. All films worth owning. AMFAS is essential and less than 300 left. Glad to see this one has moved so well, and also that Khartoum - a personal favorite - is now on the list. Surprised Zulu has not made it on to the low quantity list. Even with the UK Paramount version available, TT's release is very well done and worth owning. It deserves to be gone by now. One of my absolute favorite films since I first saw it as a kid. It makes a good companion piece with Khartoum. John Barry's score to Zulu is in my top five best of all time, and enhances the drama and action onscreen to an extent rarely equaled by any other film score; it is unforgettable. No Rapture on the list yet. Anyone who doesn't have this is really missing out on one of the true gems in the TT collection. Judgment at Nuremberg rightly deserves to be so close to being a sell out. A stellar film. I cannot recommend it highly enough and am so grateful this has been released on Blu-ray for new generations to discover and be moved by it. And First Men in the Moon.... TT's release was my first time ever seeing this Harryhausen wonder. It has become one of my most cherished blu-rays, right up there with Jason and the Argonauts. Now if only the Warner Archive would get around to bringing us The Valley of Gwangi soon...... Last edited by oildude; 07-21-2016 at 11:36 AM. |

Sigh. Looks like I'm going to have to decide whether to bite on Demetrius. It's the only one I don't already own other than Thunderbirds, which just looks too silly for me, and Vampires, which I felt was a weak movie, much worse than earlier Carpenter.

Hunh.
I might have to nab Sleepless in Seattle before it's gone. I'm not overly interested in it, but my wife would be. Definitely need to pick up Demetrius and the Gladiators, though. And maybe The Mechanic, though I think I still have a while. With regards to the latter, I'm not a big Bronson fan, but it was written by Lewis John Carlino, writer of Resurrection (1980) and Seconds, so... Still not really interested in the Thunderbirds Double Feature, The Blue Lagoon, or Vampires. Everything else I have already. |

I am a Bronson fan (to an extent, at least), and I'll say that every time Twilight Time has a sale, that one winds up in my maybe pile, and I still don't own it. It's probably the best Bronson movie I've seen that's set in the present. It's more "'70's crime thriller" movie than Bronson movie, I would say. But there have always been more attractive titles on sale instead.

I went ahead and placed an order from SAE this afternoon, before I was aware of the revised low quantity alert. No matter; I already have everything I really wanted from the new list. What I picked up:
The Gang's All Here Miss Sadie Thompson 2D/3D Rollerball (reissue) Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (reissue) and the signed copy of 10 Rillington Place, which I was surprised to find was still available. I should be good for a couple of months now, until Hush ... Hush, Sweet Charlotte begins shipping. I watched my DVD copy earlier this month in honor of Olivia de Havilland's 100th birthday, and was delighted to find how well it holds up, particularly the performances by a truly outstanding cast, including de Havilland, Bette Davis, Mary Astor, Bruce Dern, Victor Buono, Joseph Cotten, Cecil Kellaway, Ellen Corby, George Kennedy and particularly Agnes Moorehead, who is priceless as the slovenly housekeeper, Velma. |

I'm also surprised that Zulu isn't low yet, it's one of the best war movies ever made. It's great to see A Man For All Seasons sell so well and so quickly. Just over a year after being released and it's under 300. Impressive.

I'm surprised First Men in the Moon is still around. After the reissue of Journey to the Center of the Earth I think it's the best video presentation of any TT release (imo). Plus it's just one fun movie. Can't wait to see the scan of The 3 Worlds of Gulliver. I'm sure it's another Sony winner.

Wow, never expected A Man for All Seasons to hit the LQA so soon. Glad to see this a great seller for them.
Just grabbed Sleepless in Seattle & Crimes and Misdemeanors during the last SAE sale. These were blind buys, but I couldn't pass them as they were close to be OOP. Hope I'll enjoy them both! |

Thanks for the update.
![]() A Man For All Seasons is fantastic. And Paul Scofield's performance as Sir Thomas Moore is one of the most deservedly lauded in the history of the Oscars. Love Zulu and another essential purchase. Barry's score is indeed tremendous, and Richard Burton's narration sends shivers up my spine. For those on the fence, you may want to check out the official thread here on the site as there is quite a bit of (contentious) debate on the PQ between the TT and the UK Paramount release. To my eyes, the TT is superior. Get it while you can. Khartoum is a personal favourite; one of just a handful of films shot in Ultra Panavision 70, and it looks great on BD. If widescreen is your thing, you need to check out this film. Noticed Zardoz has dropped off the list. Assume this is because, relatively speaking, there are more copies available than the new titles added? |
