Or are you referring to their international rates? Best to be clear about these things when posting. ![]() |

The current cart game works like this. When you update a quantity in your cart at SAE, it will return
min { # you put in, # left in stock, 50 } Quote:
min { 100, 12, 50 } = 12 In your case, you put in 100, but there were many more left in stock (say 1000), so it returned min { 100, 1000, 50 } = 50 This is what people mean when they say the cart game only works under 50. Historical note: It used to be, a few years ago, that it would just return min { # you put in, # left in stock}, so if you put in an enormous number like 10000, you'd always be updated to #left in stock. This was very informative, because then you could know whether a title was selling quickly and you ought to bite sooner rather than later. Though even then, there was a slight bit of misinformation: #left in stock was just the amount SAE had in their warehouse. Turns out that SAE would only get 1500 of the 3000 initially, and then when the numbers got low, they would get the other 1500. So you had to guess whether #left in stock was from the first batch of 1500 or the second batch of 1500. I bit on Bye Bye Birdie in early 2013, because the cart game showed only 200 or so left in stock and so I was sure it would be in the next low quantity announcement and sell out in a flash. Turns out that was 200 out of the initial batch of 1500, and a month later or so, the #left in stock suddenly went up by 1500 when SAE restocked. Not too disappointed about that though, since the title did eventually sell out and I still have my copy. It's got some of the best color I've seen on a TT title. |

I'm going into my broken record mode... Life would be so much easier if people would just put their location in their profile so we could see where they are from. People can read this and know I'm from Winnipeg, Canada. If we could see messages being exchanged by guys from Australia...or Canada...then we would know if we could (or could not) help them. Some folks go on about slip covers. Some ramble about art work. Me? I just keep asking people to take a moment to put their location in their profile. |

You don't think it would be simpler if people take a minute to put their location in their profile? It takes a moment and the information is permanently there and precludes any misconception. This problem comes up multiple times when people are asking about regions, import issues and shipping costs. People come here and likely read dozens of posts in many, many threads every day. So you actually believe it would be easier if we all just try to juggle this info in our heads rather than take a minute to enter our location just once? EDIT: I did an experiment. I clicked on my name at the top of the page. That took me to my profile where I clicked on "Edit Your Details". I retyped in my location. Hit save. 12 seconds from start to finish. I bet oildude's response would've been the same no matter what the locations were on all of the previous posters.

I didn't mean to take the thread down a rabbit hole. It simply wasn't clear from the previous posts that this was an ongoing discussion about shipping to Australia. Inserted in the midst of this discussion were other discussions, so by the time the member above posted shipping rates, it wasn't clear to me where he was referring. I later noticed I had missed a previous post above from someone asking about Australia. So part of the blame is on me for not seeing that post, but it still makes things much easier when posting shipping rates to make it clear to where the rate applies.

I'm shocked the FIRST MEN didn't sell out within a month or two! Easily the most superlative transfer of ANY Harryhausen movie, bar none. As well as being the most fully realized (as a film) of all his work. (As opposed to the plot just being excuses to string his FX sequences together.)

Have to agree about First Men in the Moon. Shocked it's still around. Has anyone tried the cart trick? Has to be just a handful left. |
