Only in the US, as far as I know, and for three years. A UK outfit could literally announce it tomorrow, who knows. A lot of Twilight Time genre films are out in the UK from Arrow Video, for example.

I pre-ordered Remo Williams and Murphy's Law, plus added on Alfredo Garcia from last month. $100 for three titles really is insane but if you love the movies and want the best versions then whatareyagonnado? Having region A copies is also a plus for me, even though I am region-free.

It's not as if I've not seen the film before, so what's the chances of this getting a UK release soon?

Thanks.
it is pure speculation, but since there is no other release in the world (according to this site) anticipated other than the US release. I guess it might be a while. But I'm sure another country could get the rights to it and release it at any time.

Maybe wait for a sale? Doesn't seem like the kind of movie that is going to sell out really fast, and you can always check here or their site for the low quantity warnings.

I don't know if you're aware of it or not, but there's a new company in the UK that seems to be mirroring many of TT's titles. Maybe you can hold out long enough to see if Eye of the Needle shows up in your neck of the woods at a price that's more reasonable for you.

Here's the blu-ray.com forum for this new company:

I noticed this the other day when I found a listing for 10 Rillington Place. I was quite surprised to find that it seems to contain additional extras compared to the TT version. I have emailed them to ask if Eye of the Needle is on their release schedule anytime soon.

Why is that surprising? TT's weak point is definitely their extras.

10 Rillington Place was my first TT experience. It has an isolated score and multiple audio commentaries. But yes, nothing interview or behind the scenes related. I have since ordered Eye of the Needle as my second purchase from them.

From what I can see the Powerhouse version has the following additions...

Introduction by Sir Richard Attenborough (2 mins): An appreciation by the great actor
Interview with Sir Richard Attenborough (20 mins): Attenborough discusses many aspects of the film
Being Beryl: Judy Geeson Interview (22 mins) Filmed in 2016.

Yeah, not surprising. I'm a fan of TT and this has been discussed ad nauseum in this thread, but you're typically paying a premium for high quality A/V transfers and scant extras.

At the end of the day the former is what's most important and mainly why TT is so esteemed. But if you're a "meat and potatoes" person when it comes to supplements, other labels do them better.

Couldn't agree more! I wouldn't trade the spectacular transfers of FIRST MEN IN THE MOON, JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH, etc for all the extras in the world. I do appreciate commentaries though (which the aforementioned also have) but I may only listen to them (or go through the extras) once. But it's the movie that will get repeated viewings and that's what matters most to me. And TT certainly delivers!

I'd add curation. Sure, maybe some of these titles would've come out from, e.g., Olive or Kino Studio Classics if TT didn't exist. But I'm not sure Rapture, The Disappearance, or Violent Saturday would've--and even if they did, these gems could've been lost in another label's deluge of mixed bag titles.

Ordered 9 to 5, Murphy's Law and Remo Williams. The only other title I am wanting that I see listed from TT in the forseable future is Runaway Train which is next month, wish it was with this order though ; )

Trust me, more WOULD if TT advertised to the General Public. Only DIE-HARD blu ray/movie fans even KNOW about TT. There are so many Barbara fans out there to sell this puppy out in NO TIME FLAT....but how the heck are they ever going to KNOW about it being available?

I pre-ordered 9 to 5 only.......an ALL-TIME favorite I couldn't pass up.

It has nothing to do with Twilight Time not advertising. Most people don't really buy physical media anymore, particularly blu-rays and especially if they already own the same movie on DVD. Most retail stores don't carry a lot of deep catalogue titles, so even if this movie were actually released by MGM I doubt there would be tons of copies flying off shelves. If someone is really curious about owning Yentl on blu-ray and doesn't already know about Twilight Time, all they have to do is Google it and they'd find it soon enough.

Does anyone know if the Spanish release of Two Rode Together uses the same transfer as TT's?

It's Resen so it's a bootleg of the same transfer.

And if being a bootleg isn't bad enough, it's probably a BD-r too. Stay far away...

Yep. Spain has a real problem with bootleg BD-R's at the moment. The market seems to be flooded with them.
What I don't understand is why the Spanish authorities don't do anything about it.
Amazon.es don't seem to give a damn about the problem either.

That's why I don't buy any Spanish BD / DVD releases anymore.
I've been burned one time too many (no pun intended).

Best to buy the official TT release. It may cost a bit more but at least you know you're getting a top quality disc that will (hopefully) stand the test of time.
Those BD-R knock-off's will probably fail after a couple of years.

I think companies like Resen are skirting around the different copyright laws in the EU. I think Spain only recognizes copyrights on films for 50 years, after they go into the public domain. Of course, if they're selling discs based on a recent master, that new master should be protected by copyright. The catch is that the current copyright owner would have to prove the discs were derived from their work product and then take them to court. Companies like Fox or Sony may decide it's not worth the trouble.
