Last night I watched Funeral in Berlin in HD on demand from my cable company. A really quite nice transfer, and in the correct 2.35:1 AR, too. The only one of the original three Palmer films without a BD release somewhere. No idea who has the rights, but this is a film that definitely needs a BD release and would make a great TT title.

Funeral in Berlin was released by Paramount. I'm assuming they still hold the rights. I would love to get that on blu-ray as I think it's the best of the Palmer trilogy (I don't count those two cable films).

It does and I like how they included Moby Dick in the cloud formation on the front booklet cover.

Just finished watching The Chase. Still figuring it out, but it almost reminded me of an epic, all-star, widescreen, Technicolor Twilight Zone/Apocalypse Now mashup. That's not the right way to put it, but....wow, Brando sure gave it his all, didn't he? Brutal at times for a movie from 1966.

Outstanding picture quality on this Sony/Columbia release. Memorable score from John Barry. I must be a freak, but I think I liked it better than Bonnie and Clyde, which Arthur Penn directed the next year.

Strange contrast of incredibly beautiful actors—Jane Fonda, Robert Redford, Angie Dickinson, Marlon Brando, etc.—in a sordid and searing critique of America at the time. Perhaps because it was an adapted play it had a certain stagey and artificial quality in places, but that didn't stop it from being strong stuff. Apparently Brando himself singled out the movie as an example of his method acting, and I can see it.

Anyway, recommended!

There's an isolated track for John Barry's score for The Chase....

"The Chase" is a very under-appreciated film. I'm surprised it's never really received much attention considering the pedigree of the cast and director. The DVD looked absolutely awful as well, so the new BD really gives the movie new life.

Unfortunately it was a very, very slow seller on DVD for Paramount, and they've always been one of those studios that based its back-catalog BD releases on historical DVD sales figures. I had hoped that Eureka/Masters of Cinema might have got it in the UK when they had a deal with Paramount but now Olive would probably be the best bet, which means a completely barebones disc.

A completely barebones disc is fine with me. As for being a slow seller, it was barely released before it went out of print. I remember buying a copy at Future Shop here in Canada for about $18 (CDN) and flipping it on ebay for over $100 US (in an auction listing no less).

Just watched Hush Hush, Sweet Charlotte for the first time. I somehow avoided reading anything about it, and so I was surprised and even shocked a few times. Excellent movie imho. Fantastic PQ. One of my top 10 TT releases. Highly recommended.

Tried to use my Harlock coupon I had received for the problems they had on it on a new order today, and it didn't do anything. Doesn't say anywhere it had an expiration date. Did anyone else get one of those and get it to work? I ordered from Screen Archives.

I just placed an order for...

Moby Dick
I Want to Live
The Chase

I tried to use my Twilight Time two-dollar coupon on their website, but, for some reason, Twilight Time didn't accept my card authentication. I then went to Screen Archives Entertainment, placed the order with the same card and had no problem. Sorry, Twilight Time...I tried.

I just had the same issue with my credit card at Twilight Time trying to order Moby Dick. Ordered from Screen Archives instead.

I tried twice, finally gave up, and used Pay Pal.

I get next day delivery from Twilight Time ( I live 30 miles from distributor ), so I'm not about to lose that !!!
