Nice to meet you! Hello from Kennesaw.

You've got some gems in your first sale batch. Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison and The Believers are favorites of mine.

On blu-ray? Oh well if that's the case that would make sense then. Thanks.

Small world. I'm from Alpharetta myself.

Thanks, I've never seen The Believers even though I fashion myself a horror aficionado. And considering your ravenous appetite for cult cinema, you've got more than a few rare gems in your own collection.

Promised myself I wasn't going to go back and order more, but the prices of some just couldn't be resisted. Ended up ordering way way more than I should have. All together with the sale I ended up ordering 29 films and put myself in the poor house in the process. This order I ended up getting:

Bite the Bullet
Richard III
Audrey Rose
The Believers
Drums Along the Mohawk
Summer Lovers
The Roots of Heaven
House of Bamboo
Pal Joey
Bonjour Tristesse
The Rains of Ranchipur
Desiree
Lost Horizon
The Wayward Bus
Birdman of Alcatraz
Lenny
Beloved Infidel
Swamp Water

Along with Rapture from my previous order, Bite the Bullet, Drums Along the Mohawk, Pal Joey & Swamp Water were all purchased based on good things I've read on here about them, so I'm excited to see what they're about.

Really glad I held off pulling the trigger on a bunch of these (and a bunch from my previous order as well) for so long. I'm all for supporting small labels so they can keep putting out the stuff I really like and want to get, but paying $7.95 instead of $29.95 for a bunch of these really can't be beat!!

It may have been regularly priced at $19.95 before this sale started, but that definitely wasn't its original price. Like most other TT releases, its orginal price was $29.95.

Nice to see I'm not the only one whose willpower during this sale is a bit lacking. I went back for a second order this afternoon (after ordering 12 titles the first time out).

Zulu
The Story Of Adele H.
The Secret Of Santa Vittoria
The Detective
Scorpio
La Bamba
Strange Invaders
The Front

That pretty much clears the deck on my wish list for titles that have been around a while.

I love this idea! I might do the same, just for decoration, plus my "still need to watch" shelf is overflowing and at least this would give them a place to live until I can watch down the pile.

I'm worried... There's still a bunch more on my list that I would like to own, and with how long the sale runs for, I just know that after payday I'm going to start browsing through the films again and that's only going to lead to bad things happening...

Glad I don't tend to purchase straight dramas or pre-New Hollywood movies. I'd be going broke so fast right now.

The camaraderie that this sale has engendered has been such an inspiration to read, the idea of sharing the joy of the hobby rather than the sometimes overwhelming negativity that these forums can foster. It's been more than just about saving money or getting deals, it's really been about sharing the celebration of film, something you would think could and should come to the fore more often than it does here. I'm no Pollyanna myself, so I'm not finger pointing, just saying that it's great to be having fun being a part of the group that understands the pleasures of collecting physical media.

I just spoke with Randy of TT, and he told me the warehouse will be working through the weekend, into Monday, shipping out the November 15th releases.

Finished watching Bite the Bullet. I didn't like it. I was imaging a totally different movie; more gunfights and punches thrown. Don't get me wrong, watching Gene Hackman, James Coburn, Ben Johnson, and Jan-Michael Vincent in a western together was great. I was thinking it was going to be similar to The Cowboys. Don't regret buying it. A rewatch might give me another chance in liking it.

Just finished watching The Fantasticks for the first time (... the short version). I acquired this title as one of the free autographed promos, and didn't know anything about it other than it was a musical that many people didn't like. After seeing it, I realized that I probably shouldn't be a person to recommend movies to anybody else, as I thought it was excellent. Maybe I'm just a sucker for musicals.

I started watching the longer version (but stopped to write this post), and hope to finish it tonight yet. Right off the bat, the beginning is different in the longer version ... it might even set the tone in a different way than the shorter version, although I won't know that for sure until I watch the rest of it. (FWIW, without throwing out any spoilers, so far I think I like the opening of the longer version better).

There are 3 different audio-commentaries included, which means you have to watch (or listen to) this movie 5 times in order to get through all of the special features (... the short version, the original longer theatrical cut. and the 3 different audio-commentaries). Woof. I'm game, but I might not be if I didn't like the movie.

Watched The Blue Lagoon again. I had already seen it awhile back ago but with my grandmother. It was an interesting experience lol. But that was in an old TV. The picture quality is amazing on Blu-ray. Finally bringing down my unwatched pile.

Well said. Yeah, it sure beats the days when you'd have to comb through dozens of posts complaining about TT's business model and how they never have sales. I mean they may be motivated by a desire to clear out the warehouse but I'm thrilled by all the sales they've been having lately. Looking forward to my shipment arriving and even if I don't get them all watched right away, I still love opening them up and reading the booklets.

That's what I like about the film, it's not so much a guns a blazing western. It's almost like a non-comedic western version of the Cannonball Run. A solid cast working with a brilliant (and so very underrated filmmaker) on a very offbeat film. There are lots of films that have taken 2-3 viewings for me to warm up to, hopefully this is the case with you. Maybe with different expectations, you'll come to enjoy it.

One Richard Brooks film I'd love to see hit blu (perhaps from TT as it's a Sony film) is Wrong is Right with Sean Connery.

Bite the Bullet took me a long time to warm to. I first watched it as a teenager in the early 80's when it was playing on HBO, and I found it a chore to sit through. Something about it was off-putting to me - maybe I just didn't find the horse race very compelling.

It took several viewings over the years to make me into a fan, and now as a middle-aged guy I can say it's one of my favorite movies.
