Twilight Time Discussion Thread

Made my last sale order early this morning, ended up being the last half dozen sale titles that I had any interest in. (I did cast aside a few others from any further consideration, so pretty much up to date through mid-2016... except there were one or two of the 22.95-ers I might consider down the road if/when they're selling for less.) The full price titles can just wait for the rush to be over and/or a signed copy of something I don't already have.

Whew! Got my order in at the last minute. I was running out of time so I put one big order in, just to make sure it went through, and then put a second one in for the remaining ones. All of it came through just before 4!

I was actually surprised there were so many movies for me to buy, considering I already have a rather large TT collection. But I got:

Sale ends tomorrow at 4, not today.

Oh man, and now I just realized that I got the sale end date wrong: it's tomorrow at 4pm. I just had a reminder to do it today because I'd have no time tomorrow. Ugh. So I could have gone through and considered everything more carefully.

Too late now, you're stuck with them. If you want to cancel or change your order you'd have to e-mail SAE which means taking precious time away from fulfilling orders and incurring the wrath of everyone who is still waiting.

I wonder how many last minute orders will be placed over the next day? Sounds like most everyone is maxed out but some are going to succumb to a last minute itch.

Seconded. Was the first film I watched out of the orders I put through during the sale (love Denzel Washington) and was highly highly impressed with how much I enjoyed the film. I remember it being released to theaters and never really having an interest in it at the time... With my tastes in movies expanding and evolving over time, I thought this sale would be the perfect opportunity to give it a chance, and was not disappointed. Great film!

My copy of Sexy Beast was so scratched it affected playback. Luckily an e-mail to SAE got me a new, working copy within a week.

Sorry, folks! But I canceled the order, so all your orders are going to be delayed even more. In fact, I had to cancel two orders, because I was in such a rush before (for the wrong reason) that I had split my order. So that's twice the delay. And since I put my order in after all of you, I'll probably get mine first, because that's the way SAE works.

Ok, enough with the teasing. All jokes aside, I hate to cause more confusion to an already busy time. But now that I had more time to think the order through, I swapped out some features for some others (including some that I would have kicked myself over missing).

It's all good. It's worth it to get all the ones you really want.

I'll just have to wait a bit for my second order of the sale. But considering I bought 7 the first time around, along with 7 titles from the Kino Lorber sale in early November, plus the 4 Warner Archive titles, plus a couple Criterions, plus a title I bought on sale from VCI, I'm in no rush for those three (Zulu, To Sir With Love & Absolute Beginners for anyone interested).

What I'm wondering is, if they couldn't sell out of the titles that were going for under ten bucks, are they really going to leave them at $30 post-sale?
