It depends on how busy SAE is. Sometimes they're quick; sometimes they're not. The Code Red/Scorpion sale is happening at SAE right now, so that might put them behind. I'd go with the TT store.

Default August Announcements

Here are the TT release announcements for August, courtesy of the Home Theater Forum. Thanks goes to them for posting this on their site.

As always, out of respect for HTF's exclusive sneak-peak announcement window, I will not be updating the first post of this thread until TT officially announces these titles on their Facebook page sometime later today.

8 HEADS IN A DUFFEL BAG (1997) BLU-RAY - Aug 15th

KID GALAHAD (1962) BLU-RAY - Aug 15th

THE LONG, HOT SUMMER (1958) BLU-RAY - Aug 15th

SUDDENLY, LAST SUMMER (1959) BLU-RAY - Aug 15th

THE EMPEROR IN AUGUST (2015) BLU-RAY - Aug 15th

August delivers some summer sizzle bringing us Director Martin Ritt teaming with Paul Newman again in the TT collection; Joseph L. Mankiewicz directing Elizabeth Taylor, Katherine Hepburn, and Montgomery Clift; Joe Pesci losing some luggage; Elvis returning to make it a trifecta for TT in a film that includes Charles Bronson, Gig Young, and Lola Albright; and a recent powerful Japanese historical epic from Masato Harada.

EDIT: I just realized August is the 40th Anniversary of Elvis's passing.

Nice announcements. Definitely will pick up "The Long, Hot Summer" and "Suddenly, Last Summer" and will probably eventually upgrade my old DVD of "8 Heads in a Duffel Bag", which is an enjoyable 90s dark comedy with a great cast.

Yes to The Long Hot Summer. Now someone needs to get Paramount to license Hud to someone.

The TT store tends to ship at least a few days sooner than SAE.

Just noticed that Kid Galahad features both Gig Young and Charles Bronson in supporting roles, and was directed by Phil Karlson, so yeah, definitely maybe.

The only scene I remember from 8 Heads in a Duffel Bag:

I may have to revisit this film.

I'm in for the 2 summer movies...

Kid Galahad, well, if it was the Bogart version...I'd add that in a flash...but Elvis? Uhhhh somewhere down the line in a sale, it would definitely be a maybe...

I enjoy it. The scenes where Joe Pesci is sadistically messing with Todd Louiso and David Spade are great. George Hamilton is also fantastic in it. The lead actor (Andy Comeau) isn't very good, but the rest of the film is a fun romp.
