Looks very good after that and there's no problem with the audio whatsoever. I am going to rewind and watch the whole movie over.
maybe there is...

Parts of the track that occur exclusively in the surrounds do not disappear when you're listening on a 2ch system, such as TV speakers. The whole track is downmixed to 2ch when center/surrounds/rears are not detected.

Looking at their answers on their Facebook page, I would guess : because they don't even know where these corrections are coming from.

All they are answering is "It seems that", "It may be that", and my favorite "obviously things like bright/dark levels are utterly subjective".
So, not only they don't seem to realise how big the difference is (at least, with this type of answer), but they seem to not even know how this huge color scheme made his way to their release.

It's just plain hilarious. Or, more like a bad joke.

And if the technical team of the movie don't go out of the woods to say "Hey, we approved this, that's why it's looking this way", I think it's going to be pretty bad for TT reputation (which already doesn't need that kind of advertising).

It's finally great to see people here wanting the original look of the film, and not seeing other people telling them that they are not entitled to anything and that they should just be thankful that this was released in Bluray!

Why do folks keep claiming that the opening of the Movie is supposed to be set at dusk, Every version I've seen from the Cinema, VHS, LD and DVD have always been set in bright, Broad daylight.....

Good observation. I do not remember the movie that well to know that was included in other versions.

Strange approach to take. Why make it a MAGNET if it can't be used as a magnet? I stuck mine to the fridge, only one has peeled thus far.

TT's always been so respectful with the films they released in the past, it doesn't look like them.

When I get a movie in HD, and all the more when I pay HUGE money for it I want the PQ to look exactly like it always had with a better definition/compression! I don't want someone to rectify/modify it
Or at least let us chose between both via seamless branching.

I just checked their Facebook page. Here is their latest post.

Just a quick note to those folk disappointed with the Blu-ray transfer of Night of the Living Dead: Today is Sunday, and we won't be able to speak with any of the studio team until tomorrow. However, we are very limited in what we can do. If it is determined that the Blu-ray is exactly what was signed off by the filmmakers and / or, other involved personnel, then we will be sure this accurately reflects everyone's intentions. On the other hand, should it be discovered that some error occurred, somewhere between telecine and master, then that would be another matter. We will know the answer in a matter of days...in the meantime all we can do is have SAE refund consumers who want to return their discs...
Apologies for any inconvenience.

They mention a refund but what about a replacement?? I payed $30 for this! I will watch it when I get it and see what I think of the transfer.

Exactly. Thats what I always loved about the beginning. That you are seeing all this horror in broad daylight. It was never dusk in those scenes.

Strange isnt it, to have so many people who are happy to see a movie altered from how it was released?

If you've been around Blu-ray releases for any stretch of time, many premier and famous movies have been altered for the eventual BD that looked nothing like the movie once did in theaters. I could name 30 or 40 big-time movies that have had drastic color and contrast changes on Blu-ray, from the theatrical release.

It's something most fans have come to accept, if it's at the behest of the creative people behind the movie. I'm pretty sure we will find out eventually the parties behind this particular change to NOTLD90.

I have a little question, a little silly question and I am sorry but I get confuse with Twillight Time release schedule. Lost Horizon is listed for December 11, does this mean the pre-order is around November 11 or the pre-order goes on December 11?

I just want to be very sure not to miss that one, I really love this movie.
