Damn, region B locked. I didn't realize the TT Blu was missing so many extras. Ahh well, I'm sure someone will re-release it one day.

The Man from Laramie is now SOLD OUT.

It went from 400 on the LQA to 0. Just another reminder that, if you want something, order it before it's too late. If I could suggest one title from the sale list, it would be Born Yesterday. There's currently no LQA for it, but that doesn't mean it won't be gone tomorrow.

Born Yesterday is a wonderful film! Judy Holliday is absolutely adorable!

I swear to all that is holy, if someone were to unearth a 16mm print of Judy Holliday reading the phone book for two hours, I would buy it.

Until then, It Should Happen to You, Phffft, and The Solid Gold Cadillac would all be welcome at my house (hint, hint).

Twilight Time posted this in response to a question about remaining quantities:

Quote:
Twilight Time Movies We don't have accurate figures, but several in the lowest price point range that are the older titles as well as quite a few in the tier 3 range - others that are very close to gone are the 3D titles - Man in the Dark, Mad Magician etc. And also popular titles such as 3 Worlds of Gulliver...
Again, latest known quantities are in the LQA in the first post of this thread.

I want Mad Magician, but I was hoping to wait for a price drop into the $14.95 bracket down the line. I may have to pick it up, though it does seem to be at least over 50 at SAE, so they may have a good bit of stock as well.

THE MAD MAGICIAN has a very nice, crisp transfer with great 3-D and beautiful depth design of the cinematography. The film may be basically a cheap ripoff of HOUSE OF WAX but in many ways it's actually more interesting and Price is great. Even if you're not a huge fan of The Three Stooges, the two 3-D bonus shorts on the disc have fantastic 3-D, which really helps appreciate them better.

I'll probably get it just to make sure it doesn't sell out. I just wish I hadn't known about the possibly low stock before I placed my original order. I hate to pay shipping on one item.

There was a time when Twilight Time (or maybe it was SAE) limited the number of copies you could order (like 1 to 3 copies), once that title's inventory reached a certain low point ... like 100 copies left, or so. I wonder if they still do that ... or if these titles are selling out so unexpectedly because somebody is mass buying them as soon as a sale hits. Just a thought.

There have been a number of "surprise" sell-outs over the past few years. Since they usually post an initial LQA at 400 or 500, I find it hard to believe that some of these titles have just immediately sold that amount (or more) when a sale starts. Especially when you look at some of the other titles with reported lower amounts that are still available months later. For whatever reason, I think announcing LQAs are just no longer a priority.

10 Rillington Place and Hardcore worth $15? Been debating for days. Both sound very dark/depressing and maybe 1 time only viewing. Do you think these 2 will go lower in price, before selling out? I know it's all personal taste and speculation, but I'm hoping someone will give me a reason to buy/not buy!

How about that, despite the difficult subject matter in both, they're both well-directed, well-written and well-acted films?

As to whether they'll further drop in price, who can say?

Both are excellent films. Of the both, I lean towards Hardcore as I've never had the desire to re-watch Rillington Place. Keep in mind that both titles are available region free in the UK by Indicator which might be an influencing factor as to why they're not sold out, plus if they DO sell out while you're waiting for a lower price, you can buy them there.

It's not. Both La Bamba and The Man from Laramie have been out for three years already. Those two titles selling out their run of 3000 after three years - with the last year seeing several sales with those titles in them - is hardly shocking.

I would say that about both films. Very well made, but they aren't necessarily re-watchable.

Thanks for the suggestions/information. I finally placed my order: Born Yesterday, The Fortune, Hardcore (supposedly better commentary than Indicator's release?), Miss Sadie Thompson 3D, and the Mad Magician 3D. I think I'll try to buy 10 Rillington Place and The Chase from Indicator due to their different/additional extra features. I've never ordered from Indicator and don't know too much about them... their current prices on Amazon are higher than this TT sale, but maybe Indicator's will eventually go on sale, too.

The UK releases are also LEs, and 10 Rillington Place has been known to be low in stock for quite some time. Once sold out, a non-frilled version (in non-Scanavo case & without a booklet) is supposed to come out, but that's just a plan and we don't know if it will ever come out (we'll know when the LE sells out, I guess).
