I think it highly unlikely the Kino release of Inherit the Wind will drop below $10 (heck, I don't even think I've seen any Kino BR releases at less than $10). So best to pick up the TT release at $9.95 if interested.

Though I agree with you about "Inherit The Wind" specifically, plenty of titles have hit as low as 8.95 in the sales Kino has started having since they launched the new site.

The point I'm getting at is if you miss out on this one you're not going to have to pay scalper prices in the future. Even if Kino's release never dips as low as $9.95 (plus shipping because Screen Archives doesn't do free shipping) I'm sure it can be had for less than $15 at some point.

Obviously you haven't seen the last couple Kino sales which a ton of titles were priced at $10 or near that plus they got a Kino horror sale going on right now which has a lot of titles for under $10 plus free shipping

They likely would have to have those ones on sale for $5 - $7 each to ever sell out if anytime soon .
Goes to show that 3000 copies is a lot for most catalog releases, even with sale pricing. And since times were better back then (sales-wise for the format), it will likely be even harder to sell out of the current titles unless the sales are even better ($5-$7 doesn't seem unreasonable at some point, unless they don't care about selling out anymore, which is unlikely).

People can only buy so much stuff too. During the last sale that Twilight Time had a few weeks ago I bought three of their titles. I picked up Guess Who's Coming To Dinner and Secret of Santa Vittoria. I hemmed and hawed about getting Inherit the Wind and having a Kramer themed purchase, but decided on Yentl instead (that was a wise decision). I might have said eff it and bought them both but this came on the back of a sale at Kino and various other purchases I made at Deep Discount and Amazon Italy. Even though physical media is supposedly dying I cannot keep up with all of the blu-rays I want to buy and all of the sales that everyone keeps having. If it's still available the next go round, I'll likely pick up Inherit the Wind from Twilight Time (at $10 or less).

So what I'm getting at, is it's not that people aren't interested in these movies or getting good deals, it's just that we all have budgets and we can't all have a "Gotta get it now" mentality.

Yeah that's true. So much to choose from and now many of us have UHD BD to throw money at. I think most people (if now nearly all) who posts regularly here has by now a huge stockpile of unwatched movies because it's so hard not to buy when the sales are so good.

I'm still making my way through DVDs I never got around to watching (though I've finally gotten that down to a small stack), let alone Blus!

That's true for me, but it hasn't helped that for the past two years I've been busy having to deal with two estates, which hasn't left a lot of time for watching movies. It's been especially true of the past few months, which is why I have't been posting much lately.

When I get new BDs in (whether bought at a store, or ordered on-line), I make a point of chapter-skipping through them to see if there are any obvious glitches, then put them on the shelf to watch when I have the time.

I am a fan of misjudged films and also of certain kinds of bad films, so I have a hard time finding people with similar eclectic tastes. Anyone can review a popular film however the joy, for me, is finding and sharing the oddities that others may have dismissed.
I agree, and often seek out forgotten box-office and critical disasters for that reason: sometimes they're deservingly obscure, but sometimes you hit upon something a little off the beaten track and all the more satisfying for it.

One of the delights of DVD and boutique Bluray labels - even more than video - is that its insatiable desire for fresh product sees the resurrection of swathes of unloved would-be blockbusters that no self-respecting cinematheque would ever include in any retrospective and which would otherwise be left to rot in time-compressed panned-and-scanned graveyard slots on network TV just before the infomercials start. These aren't the forgotten or under-appreciated masterpieces awaiting rediscovery, but rather the misjudged, the misbegotten or the just plain mistimed, films before or after their time that never found their audience and, until the advent of DVD, would never have been given the chance. And it's often the fact that they were out of step with their time that often offers something outside the more successful but formulaic hits of their day that makes them stand out from the crowd if you give them a chance.

And TT have put out more than a few films that fit that bill: Beloved Infidel, The Bounty, Che, The Disappearance, The Fantasticks, From Noon Till Three, The Front, Gran Bollito, Lost Horizon, Night of the Generals, Royal Flash, Zardoz... with hopefully many more to come.

My goal is to watch all of the blind buys in my collection. I'm down to about a dozen or so and when I'm done I will consider that a victory. I think I would have a panic attack if I thought about all of the other discs I still needed to watch.

Twilight Time Movies: Mr Allen has artwork and production approval on all his films - we have submitted every title we have released to his office and sometimes they have requested changes - this one is still pending so it's quite possible we may have to revise it
I sure hope not....I like it.

I have them, but I copied the ones I need to to DVD-Rs last year. I am upgrading where possible, but I have some stuff that isn't available at all. So I lump it all in with DVDs.

On something of a tangent....how is it that Woody Allen seems to have so much control over his home video releases? It seems out of kilter with his current level of critical acclaim and box office performance. Surely whoever funds him to crank out these movies would want some control over their return in the home video market?

Wow, awesome. "Husbands and Wives" and "Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice" are easy purchases for me. The other two titles look interesting as well.
