NOTE: This presentation of Doctor Dolittle on Blu-ray is a brand new 4K transfer taken from the Todd-AO 70mm original negative. The PQ and audio (5.1) are stunning!

Twilight Time on another forum indicated that December’s The Hospital, Alice and Wuthering Heights are the last of the MGM/UA titles they will distribute.

Maybe moving on to Kino Lorber?

....plus the most important thing, which is the quality of that studio's masters are way below the others in regard to their readiness for blu-ray - they also pressure us to release too many all at once , and we prefer a more manageable pace - so this December's slate represents the last of MGM/UA as far as we're concerned.

Everyone seems to have a piece of the MGM/UA pie. Kino, Criterion, Olive, Shout Factory and Arrow.

It's for that reason that I'm not too concerned. It will allow Twilight Time to focus on releasing titles from the other studios they have deals with.

As for the most recent announcements, the only one I've seen before is Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice which was good... but very, very dated and seems almost quaint in its depiction of gender politics. I think Natalie Wood was at her most gorgeous in that movie though.

Nothing to my liking this time around. Continue to hope that "The Long Ships" and "Trouble with Angels" will eventually see Blu-ray release. These are two Columbia/Sony titles that cry out for a TT release!

Phew! Glad they snuck that last Woody title in under the radar.

Would love to see both those get released, but I am looking forward to Doctor Dolittle and Gidget next month.

I think this is why they finished up releasing the UA and Orion Woody Allen titles this year.

I have no problem with TT wrapping up their MGM deal. They released a lot of great titles, but other labels are also releasing a ton of MGM titles (Kino, Shout, Olive, Arrow, Criterion), so it's not like we'll never see that catalog get releases anymore.

Bring on more Fox and Sony titles, I say.

Happy to report that I just received an email from SA stating my T.T. "Pirates of Blood River" just shipped!

It's nice to see more films from the 40s and 50s getting released. Count me in for both of these.
