I believe the original HEAD OVER HEELS changed the ending of the original novel
[Show spoiler] to a more uplifting conclusion, which ultimately marred all that came before. CHILLY SCENES restores the more realistically pure ending resulting in a much more moving and satisfyingly conclusion

From what I've read Head Over Heels had an ending that was different from, but similar in spirit to, the original novel. For the re-release as Chilly Scenes of Winter, the final scene was simply removed, giving an ending that was truer to the spirit of the rest of the movie. Many people complained that the HoH ending felt tacked on and fake.

I've never read the novel or seen the HoH version, but the ending of CSoW felt real to me. I'm not sure I'd want to see a different ending.

I'm one who saw HEAD OVER HEELS first-run, so I was hoping that the TT disc would include both endings.

HOH was shown on cable TV in the mid-1980's with the original theatrical ending. I don't think that ending has been exhibited since then.

I'm a little worried about Gun Fury 3D selling out early! No one had heard of the Mad Magician 3D either, but that sold out early. I bought Inferno 3D in the sale already, always enjoy Robert Ryan onscreen. Seems the 3D titles attract attention. I watched 'Gun Fury' a few years ago on a Film4 UK HD broadcast. Philip Carey's obsession with Donna Reed's character was quite amusing!

Anyone any idea which titles are going to get low quantities first? I thought Peyton Place might be a quick seller, but not sure if it's generated much buzz. I recently got 'Tony Rome / Lady in Cement', 'Bullet Train', 'Pretty Poison', 'The Boston Strangler', 'Night of the Generals' and 'The Fortune Cookie'.

3D will always have a rabid following regardless of what the studios think. With TT having a limited number of bds per release it's better to get their 3D releases early on.

Didn’t know there was a sale going on till I got a email just now. I wasn’t able to find Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte on screen archive website. But the twilight time website had it for $14.95 I grabbed it before it was sold out.

All right, guys, so if you had to choose between House of Bamboo or The Crimson Kimono, which would you choose?

I can also probably be easily persuaded to get both, but I'd like some opinions first. Thanks!

I would suggest House of Bamboo, only because it's been out since 2015 which means it's closer to a possible sell-out and is $5 cheaper.

But as for the movies themselves, I'm going to be an enabler and say "Get 'em both!"

As a result of some canceled orders and returned stock, https://www.twilighttimemovies.com/ have put back on sale 15 copies of FATE IS THE HUNTER and 28 copies of TITUS - both of these titles are officially out of print, but we have priced them at $9.95 each in the current promotion. Last chance on these 2...

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I favor CRIMSON KIMONO, but both are very good. I guess I prefer LA and Little Tokyo as the setting.

With Fox titles coming like THE INCIDENT and EFFECT OF GAMMA RAYS, there are some other Fox titles I'd love to see TT release in the future:

THE NANNY
CINDERELLA LIBERTY
SHOCK TREATMENT (1964)
THE CABINET OF CALIGARI (1962)
NEXT STOP, GREENWICH VILLAGE
WILD IN THE COUNTRY

Default Fate is the Hunter and Titus NOT QUITE SOLD OUT YET

EDIT: I see after posting that TT has made the announcement above. Thanks!

Twilight Time movies site has sent out the following information in an email:

Quote:
As some of you know we had a glitch this past summer when our old warehouse service shipped duplicates of some orders. We just finished a full audit and noticed that two of those titles were never made available for sale again.

So the good news is that we have fewer than 20 copies remaining of Fate is the Hunter and 30 copies remaining of Titus, titles that we previously thought were sold out. We have put these copies on sale for $9.95 so we expect them to sell out fast! If you don't see an option to add them to your cart they are sold out.
These are the final remaining copies of Fate is the Hunter and Titus. These are only available at the Twilight Time website (not at SAE).

I have made the adjustments to the Low Quantity Alert on the first page of this thread.

I am a big fan of Fate is the Hunter....... this is good news for those still looking to acquire it.

Count me in for The Incident too! Fantastic movie. Always thought it would make a great double bill with the 1966 film Dutchman.

Would also love to see To Kill A Clown (1972) get a release in the not to distant future.

It's funny that you say that because that's exactly how I saw The Incident a few years back, both of those were on a double bill at the New York Film Forum.

Almost every month for years now I wait for an announcement of SHOCK TREATMENT. Unfortunately, TT is not in charge of when Fox will get around to remastering certain titles.

As for THE INCIDENT... I find it a very unpleasant movie. Pass!
