Not sure about your area specifically but the trend with baseball teams and regional fox networks has been for the teams to invest in shares of those stations. This goes back to Yankee's and Red Sox, investing in broadcast end allows them to move money outside of the Shared Revenue Cap. Money made as part of a broadcast network which the team either is a part owner or controls the network need not be counted as part of Shared Revenue if I understand it correctly. So if the Braves were part of the one of the regional fox sports and the team is a part owner they'll probably not be directly effected.

The Seven Ups is a classic pseudo spinoff of French Connection with another amazing car chase orchestrated by Bill Hickman, definitely recommended. New Centurions is a great cop drama though there’s already a fine region free release from Powerhouse. Don’t Bother to Knock is an interesting thriller with a great cast including Anne Bancroft in her film debut and Marilyn in a good early career performance. Haven’t seen the other film.

It's OOP however (but still in-stock at Amazon, albeit for 20 pounds). I'll wait to see if Indicator does anything with Don't Bother to Knock or Underworld before the TTs reach $14.99.

The Gene Tierney Biography episode is properly titled: "Gene Tierney: A Shattered Portrait," not "Profile." I'm not in love with the Twilight Time cover art. Tierney received sole above-the-title billing for this film; Vincent Price, whose image dominates the artwork, was billed third, after Walter Huston.

I feel that November of 2017 and February of 2018 have stronger overall lineups, but I'll definitely buy UNDERWORLD, USA from the March slate.

Kino Lorber Studio Classics and Twilight Time are getting a lot of revenue from me in February.

I want all four of the February titles.

Hopefully they wise up and do reversible cover art on this one. Clearly trying to appeal to Price fans, which would be forgivable if it didn't start someone like Tierney.

That March lineup is stellar! Not a single dud in the bunch. If I didn’t already own the Powerhouse New Centurions, I’d be grabbing every one of these. All excellent films.

Can’t believe I missed out on the announcement of Dragonwyck either. One of only a few Joseph L Mankiewicz films left on my not seen list. Looking forward to My Cousin Rachel as well after hearing so much about it over the years.

They are somewhat encouraged by UHD, but they are basically releasing the “core” titles and best sellers from their catalogs. I do not think they see the format as the wave of the future.

The titles Twilight Time licenses from them are basically those geared to collector’s and film enthusiasts. They are not seen as cash cow titles, and licensing them out to another label and making some pocket change at the same time seems fine to them. Labels like TT, Shout, Kino, Olive and Criterion will be the primary source for catalog titles as long as consumers want them. But the main focus for the studios is now digital and streaming.

The licensing is nice pocket change for them and relieves them of any obligation to replicate and distribute.
What titles has Disney licensed to TT?

It seems to me that the very same comments you make to argue that Disney will continue the licensing can largely be used to argue the opposite.

"Physical media is all but dead to them. Catalog titles in particular."

". . . making some pocket change . . ."

"But the main focus for the studios is now digital and streaming."

"The licensing is nice pocket change for them and relieves them of any obligation to replicate and distribute." Exactly: pocket change. Why not relieve themselves of even bothering with licensure at all?

We're of course speculating at this point, but it seems to me that you're painting with too large of a brush here regarding what you're purporting is an investment by all studios to keep licensure going because it's low cost, semi-high gain. If this were the case, all of the studios would be licensing to one of the boutiques by now. By the same token that you're arguing the studios aren't going to be bothered to release deep catalog themselves so licensure will continue, one could counter by positing that if it doesn't pencil out to release it themselves why even bother with licensure to only net "pocket change"?

Although it's something of a 'glass half full/glass half empty' premise, what tips the scale to my eyes is Heaven and Earth. Even with Oliver Stone's Warner relationship translating into TT being able to release that title on BD, Redman has mentioned in interviews that it was a very unpleasant deal. Warner made it very difficult for TT. And, in an I think unprecedented move, TT was obligated to destroy their unsold inventory after the end of the three-year license (which is why that disc recently dropped to $9.95 as it's December 9 three-year release anniversary approached).

This whole Disney-Fox deal is not being driven by pocket change. $2B in savings from "synergies" over time has me thinking that there is going to be a LOT of collateral damage: lost jobs, eliminated redundancies, less opportunities for adult films to make it to the screen . . . and much less interest in any kind of release--direct or licensed, theatrical or home vid--of anything that doesn't fit into a Marvel, Lucasfilm/Star Wars, Pixar/animated family or maybe (hopefully) Fox Searchlight idiom.

I predict that Disney will end Fox' stewardship of the MGM catalog on home vid and we will not continue to see TT releases of Fox or MGM titles in, say, two years.
