They ship on or after the official release date. Sometimes they get the items in stock a few days early, so they start shipping them but they don't time their shipments so that everyone gets the movies on street date.

Thank you. I asked because I'll be flying out to the annual TCM film festival on April 24th, where I might have an opportunity to speak with Barbara Rush. The planned release date for No Down Payment is April 17th. So if I received the movie by the 17th, I would probably have a chance to watch it before the 24th ... and maybe have something to talk about with Ms. Rush. Otherwise I'll probably just silently stare at her ... which is what I might do anyway.

In any case, I ordered it because I know I'll want to see it eventually.

Just ordered:

The Incident
Don't Bother to Knock
Kiss of Death
No Down Payment
Doctor Dolittle
(freebie)

TCM Classic Film Festival: http://filmfestival.tcm.com (highly recommended)

I went ahead and picked up the autographed Doctor Doolittle. I loved the movie as a child and this was the perfect excuse to get it without waiting for a sale.

Any way to know how much stock is left on a title? I forgot to order Peyton Place while the sale was going.

Auto Focus and Model Shop both look interesting as well. Never got around the seeing Auto Focus when it was released, and always interested in seeing Gary Lockwood in something else.

Is TT no longer releasing Fox movies?

I wonder if we'll ever get the Delmer Daves/Richard Widmark western The Last Wagon.

Broken Lance and Garden of Evil are damn fine Widmark westerns courtesy of TT, and after watching the awesome The Law and Jake Wade I want to add this to the collection.

They are still releasing them. Blue Denim and No Down Payment are both Fox titles. They are no longer releasing MGM titles though.

Well I'm counting on these guys then to give me The Last Wagon; would make an awfully good companion piece to the aforementioned titles

The Last Wagon should go with another Widmark western Warlock.

Hmm, I'm not sure. I know that when a title is running low, they put it in the "Going Fast" section.

Maybe that's the only way. Appreciate it!

No 100% reliable way, but between sales titles are usually pretty slow to sell out and will usually get announced as "low quantity" at some point. So keep an eye on the first page of the thread to see if the low quantities are updated, and otherwise you should be fine until at least the next time the movie goes on sale.

That's general advice; specific to "Peyton Place", maybe it's me, but I can't imagine that movie will sell out before "9 to 5" does (which has been out longer and seems higher profile to me), so that might be a good canary in the coal mine for you. I don't think there's any reason to expect it to sell out quickly compared to other releases around the same time, I think you'll be fine even if you miss the next sale too.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but isn't 9 to 5 already sold out?

You know what happened? Wikipedia deleted the list of TT titles, so I was looking at an outdated link I found, just to see what had been released around the same time as Peyton Place. So, okay, admittedly, I probably could not have picked a worse example

"Wikipedia is not a catalog". It looks like 3 people voted and it was 2 to 1, so the page was deleted.

Geez, I hope the Wikipedia police don't axe the Criterion page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...u-ray_releases). Lord forbid that Wikipedia might contain information that's of interest to somebody.

WoodenSuperman isn't a big catalog or list guy apparently. I wonder if he means 'wooden' in the literal sense, actually being made of wood, or 'wooden' in the sense of being stoic.

Well what did that page on Wikipedia contain that we don't (or can't) have in the OP of this thread?
