Fair enough, although that was before I listed the bonuses on the UK disc

Mississippi Mermaid is now sold out at the SAE website though still available at Twilight time . Maybe this means soon at SAE website they will add another title to the 7 for 70 offer .

I see only 13 copies of the train remain at twilight time .
Still available at SAE .

I am curious why twilight time is not putting it's much older titles on sale seems to me they would want to sell out of those .

I would love to see The Gods must be crazy , Oh god you devil , Bebe's kids , romeo & juliet , pretty baby ( brooke shieds version ) , cleopatra .
would also like to see more John wayne , clint eastwood & Jack nicholson titles released .

Of those you listed only Pretty Baby and perhaps The Gods Must Be Crazy are the only ones I could see getting a TT release. Bebe's Kids, Romeo & Juliet (I assume you're referring to the '68 version) are Paramount with Oh God You Devil being Warner; neither company have done deals with Twilight Time to my knowledge. The '34 and '63 "Cleopatra" have US Blu Ray releases. TT mostly deal with Sony, MGM, and Fox to my understanding.

My mistake! I glanced over at who distributed it and for some reason I thought it was from Fox.

I am really fond of The Gods Must Be Crazy. I bought it and the sequel on DVD last year. I remember this movie being kind of big (successful) when it was released here in the states. They ran it all the time on cable TV back in the 80's. Would love to see it be given a Blu-ray release.

You convinced me! I ordered both Night of the Generals and Emperor of the North this afternoon. Both were blind buys, but they sounded interesting and they were enthusiastically recommended by people whose opinions I respect, so I decided it was a "no-lose" proposition!

But I finally dusted off that creaky "Combat Classics" DVD of The Night of the Generals and I'm going to throw my hat in with the others; it's certainly worth $15, especially after a restoration. Reviewed a November purchase for the $2 coupon and placed an order at TT's website before I missed out entirely.

It is rambling and Shariff is frustratingly underused, but I enjoyed the kaleidoscope of narratives here. You get an unusual murder mystery, set against WWII, as well as the Valkyrie plot to assassinate Hitler. Neither really feels forced or shoehorned, but rather naturally overlapping, and each holds the interest until they cohere into a satisfying, unified strand.

Add the large international cast and actual filming locations lensed by Decae and you have a pretty intriguing flick here. I urge anybody on the fence to grab it while they can, it's a unique entry in the WWII canon.

Twilight Time promised to change their shipper after a lot of problems last year, and it seems they made good on their promise. I ordered NIGHT OF THE GENERALS on Friday and it arrived on Monday. The disc itself was packed in a box, not an envelope, and was shipped from Louisville, TX which is right next door to me. The only "downside" is now I have to pay sales tax.

I find that the benefits of the internet far outweigh the negatives. It's thanks to the internet that I've been able to buy and / or watch so many classic movies that I would have never been able to track down when I was a kid first getting into film. And thanks to places like IMDB before it got nuked and now here, I've been able to discuss movies with like-minded individuals. Sure, there are goofy people with their goofy opinions but I think they've always been out there, it's just now their voice is equal to everyone else's.

As for music, we have an Apple Music family membership which is a great way to listen to music you like, test drive new stuff you haven't listened to and generally broaden your horizons. Or if you prefer, it gives you suggestions on things you might like based on what you already listen to. I also have a tweenage daughter who listens to a lot of modern day pop so that keeps me up to date, and some of that stuff like Ariana Grande or Katy Perry is actually good to have on when you're having a cardio workout.
It took a few extra steps but finding out about and renting a movie (via mail order - if a local place didn't have it) was readily available before IMDB and the internet blowup.

A number of publications of Movie Guides which frequently included what format (VHS or DVD) a title was released in a home movie format. Way more titles than anyone could watch in a lifetime.

I'm very thankful for where we are now, but people with "rental money" back in the day had access to a ton of Classic Films.

I'm much more grateful for the quality of transfers we have now, the QTY availaible hasn't really changed much in terms of Titles available pre-Bluray days.

It's interesting how the discussion has changed, from "How can we even find or see these films" where we'd eagerly scour TV listings and revival house monthly programs to hope for a rare screening of something we'd wanted to see for years and where we'd cling to stray reels of 8mm/16mm film we'd bought from somebody who knew somebody (if you could be trusted not to spread any names around) because they seemed like their only chance of survival to "What's the transfer like?" and "What are the extras?" while out To Watch piles of films we'd have once pounced on at the first rare sighting grow with each new sale or offer.

Yeah, if I didn't want to buy a Disney film on VHS(though we had them all on VHS, wish I still had my VCR) you could go the local movie rental place and get any Disney film you wanted and not have to worry about the Vault. So, I like those days for that purpose.

Cat Ballou, Hardcore, The Hospital, The Hound of Bakersvilles, Inferno, and The Train (Encore Edition) are sold out on Twilight Time’s site. As of this post; they are still available on Screen Archives at the sale price of 15$ a piece.

I'm glad to see so many titles moving quickly during this sale. It seems to support the idea that $15 is the sweet spot for most TT buyers.

For “The Hospital”, 15 was easily the sweet spot for everyone (including myself).

Certainly my sweet spot. I've gotten a little over-exuberant in past sales and paid $20 for some titles but I've also nabbed a couple handfuls for $8 and $10 so I guess it all balances out.
