Once again Twilight is doing a sale on fox titles on both screen archive and the twilight time website. I was able to order dr dolittle and stormy weather. I had to order from twilight time since one of the movies was out on screen archive.

Thanks! I missed it during the last sale, and I regretted it as soon as it sold out, so I snatched it up, plus "How to Steal a Million" to split the shipping up a bit.

I got my order in at SAE for:

April Love (1957)
Captain From Castile (1947)
The Keys of the Kingdom (1945)
Peyton Place (1957)
The St. Valentine's Day Massacre (1967)
Two For the Road (1967)
The Vanishing (1993)

and went ahead and ordered an extra copy of Dragonwyck (1946) and pre-ordered a copy of the soundtrack to Advise & Consent (1962).

Anyone who's on the fence regarding Where the Sidewalk Ends should snatch up a copy while it's on sale. Generally dismissed by critics and the public when it was released in 1950, this gritty film noir has been favorably re-appraised in recent years and is now acclaimed for Dana Andrews' taut performance (now recognized as one of his best) and for Joseph LaShelle's textured black-and-white cinematography. Gene Tierney's performance is also praise-worthy, and the Twilight Time disc shows off all these attributes to pleasing effect. Definitely a winner!

Will likely buy Dr. Dolittle from TT if its still aviable this Friday. Can't afford anything before then sadly.

I strongly recommend "Peyton Place" for anybody who doesn't own it or needs another title to justify ordering from TT or SAE.

I'd argue if you were to own one 50s melodrama I'd make it "Peyton Place". Franz Waxman's score is lovely, the cinematography/Maine scenery is luscious, top notch performances, and ever-so scandalous 50s subject matters (though one sequence is still disturbing even by today's standards). TT and Fox did an excellent job presenting "Peyton Place" in all of its glorious Cinemascope goodness.

EDIT: Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte seems to be sold out on TT and SAE.

I also had two $2 coupons, though I guess only one can be used per order.

Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte looks to be gone, I certainly cannot find it on either site. Oh well, I would be shocked if this didn’t get another release elsewhere, will pick that up when it eventuates.

Trying to see what else I might go for.

I bought St Val's Massacre a while back and wasn't too thrilled with the transfer.
For those whom are region free, I've heard very good things about Indicator's release.

As well as countless sales over the past couple years where it was on sale for under $10. I still can't believe it took so long for this marvelous film to finally sell out.
