She was terrific in Some Like it Hot too, which gave her some really dramatic moments as well. The film is hilarious, but in part because it works so well on a dramatic level too. Really, Marilyn was a fantastic, underrated actress. People just seem to remember her ditzier roles from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Seven Year Itch, and How to Marry a Millionaire. I wish she got to play a meaty role in a serious drama, and she would’ve been fantastic in a Hitchcock film.

Peyton Place The Remains of the Day The Seven-Ups Thunderbolt and Lightfoot The Train Honestly, I’ve been fairly statisfied with all my TT films in terms of A/V. I’d say the weakest, AV wise, would have to be “The Crimson Kimono”. It’s a shame Sony didn’t supply a remaster because it’s definitely rough around the edges and I’m usually a fan of “organic” presentations. |

My all-time favorite Twilight Time titles? Here goes...off the top of my head...
The Big Heat Inferno Breaking Away Garden of Evil Edge of Eternity The Driver Where the Sidewalk Ends Leave Her to Heaven Journey to the Center of the Earth Kiss of Death I'm embarrassed to admit that the number still-unwatched Twilight Time Blu-rays in my collection eclipses the number of watched discs. On the bright side, though, that's just more undiscovered joy in my future. |

Chiming in on TT favorites ... My favorites are some of the films I remember most fondly while growing up ... the films I got most excited about when they were announced. (Don't laugh too hard). There are so many more that could be added, but I'm keeping the list to films that are not blind buys (which is most of what I have ... blind buys, that is).
The 3 Worlds of Gulliver Body Double Breaking Away Bye Bye Birdie Cat Ballou Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Sex ... *But Were Afraid To Ask First Men In The Moon Guess Who's Coming To Dinner Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte Journey To The Center Of The Earth The Last Detail Lilies Of The Field Mysterious Island Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines Thunderbirds Are Go / Thunderbird 6 To Sir With Love The Song of Bernadette and the great Zulu EDIT: I could have easily added the 2 Harryhausen Sinbad movies too. "Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte" was a great blind buy, I'm glad I snagged one of the last copies from the Fox sale. I enjoyed the bonus feature of "Bruce Dern Remembers"...I could just listen to him talk for hours about his breaking into Hollywood.

My favorite TT movie which also happened to be the first TT film I bought is To Sir, With Love. I grew up watching it over and over again and it has a very good set of extras. IMO, I say its film that everyone should own. How to Steal A Million is not very far behind.

Cagney was a big fan of the film and was going to star in Passer's next film, Eagle of Broadway as an elderly Bat Masterson, but between his insurance problems and the lousy box office for Cutter it fell through. |

Was ready to buy “Hardcore” and got nervous when I couldn’t find it on TT’s site. Found it new on Amazon for $26.95 but now they only have 2 left! Not sure if they or TT will get more but anyone on the fence may want to consider jumping.

I didn't call it trashy to be critical. What I was getting at is that they are both soap operatic melodramas from the 50s. I wouldn't rate it quite as highly as you did, but I was surprised to find I really enjoyed it.

“Peyton Place” got me hooked on 50s melodramas. It’s a soap opera epic of scandal, young love and intrigue with a gorgeous Maine backdrop and some lovely Franz Waxman to sweeten the deal. I’d argue that if you’re gonna own one 50s melodrama, make it this or “All That Heaven Allows”.
