For my third and final OOP order I got Picnic. There are 3 other titles I really want but I am way over my movie budget for this paycheck SOB. Generally I never want to spend more then $20 on a movie and $80ish a paycheck which never happens but I got to excited and could not resist SOB. Fingers crossed for us all that our orders arrive and that they are in great condition.

I would love to own Leave Her to Heaven, and hopefully Kino or someone picks it up.

Yeah, I admit I cancelled my order for “9 to 5” and “The Blob” because I had a little buyers remorse. Let someone else snag ‘em.

You guys are AWESOME ! I was reading your comments and thinking "what??? OOP titles at screen archives ? It can't be...." There is only one TT title I wanted that I missed out on, and that is The Mechanic. I thought, what the hell. I typed it in and there it was, ONE Left (or so it said) and I got it !!. Even if it gets released by somebody else soon, I am sick of waiting for this one and I figure there is a good chance the commentary won't be carried over. I also got Scream and Scream Again, couldn't resist at that price. Thanks again, you guys made my day.....

I noticed that was one of them. Glad you were able to grab it, it's a great movie. Probably my favourite Bronson film.

Great that you managed to snag a copy! I noticed in a different thread or two that you regretted missing out on “The Mechanic”.

Awesome! Just bought a copy of "Hombre" that I had missed out on!!

Seems there's at least one more copy available for anyone who is interested.

So, now that the Sony sale is over, I must confess some disappointment over how uneventful it was, given that there were almost no sell-outs or "low quantity" notices, and the only title to sell out (THE NIGHT OF THE GENERALS) was only still available at TT's website.

Granted, I wouldn't want anyone to miss out on anything they want just so I can feel proud of my speed, but compared to June's FOX sale, where three titles I wanted sold out immediately, only two of which I was able to get from TT's site literally a day or two before they were completely gone, but I do feel a little deflated that me making sure I was ready (I literally placed my order as soon as the sale started) was a kind of pointless precaution.

That being said, I did wish some more films had sold out, given how great the offer was (the 9,95 and 6.95 brackets were some of the best I've seen), there's a balance between the stock holding out for cash-strapped costumers and the product just rotting in shelves.

By far my favorite TT blind buy. Yes I bought it on sale with a group buy here during one of the 7 for 70 type of sale and I didn't see other must haves to get to that nber myself. One of the titles I would have paid full price for if I'd known what a masterpiece it is.

One of the few titles that are really worth a premium. Not sure the status now but after that sale there was at least one ebayer that had stocked up on that title for resale.

I bought a legit Leave Her to Heaven on the used market at a markup. Did not know about TT when it came out otherwise I'd have paid full price then.

The Spain release which I read might be a bd-r seemed pretty tempting by price comparison. But this is a rare film I'll revisit a few times.

Thanks to the people who posted about the very limited OOP titles available again on SAE!!! I managed to get my "one that got away" title, namely Hombre. I also got Demetrius and the Gladiators, Equus, and Yentl, just because for one reason or another I knew I would kick myself if I didn't buy them after them being available again. It hurts buying them at full price, considering how cheap some of them were in previous sales...

And here I was thinking that my wallet was safe, that I managed to resist purchasing during the Sony sale. Sigh.

FWIW, Mr. Hobbs and Thunderbirds still have 1 copy each. And looking through the OOP titles in my wishlist on SAE, I discovered that Sony is releasing Night of the Living Dead (1990). That makes me really happy!
The preorder is already available. I believe that's the fourth former TT title that Sony has decided to release themselves, after Christine, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?, and Sleepless in Seattle.

The Spanish company that released it has a swath of bootlegs. I read one listing on eBay that claimed it was pressed, but remarked that the disc underside is black. No way I would pay $25 for a bdr bootleg. I was lucky and found someone on this site willing to sell me theirs.

I wish I had purchased these titles when they were first released after seeing how much they are being sold at now. Currently on Amazon UK, new Twilight Time copies of Those Magnificent Men and Our Man Flint are being advertised at £300, whilst In Like Flint is around £80. However these prices seem to bounce up and down continuously as I've seen them drop to around half the price in the past, but nonetheless I think I'll stick with the DVD's for now.

I don't blame you, I wouldn't pay that for a bootleg either. The majority of Spanish releases are BD-R discs, and some can still be quite expensive for a bootleg unfortunately. I've picked up a few of their titles in the past, and even though they are generally of good quality, I'd only buy them at a reasonable price.

Too bad The Egyptian and Our Man Flint didn't show up for sale. Those two are my most wanted OOP TT titles. By the time I discovered TT, both releases were already sold out. Really wish another label would re-release these two films.

Was it brand new, or a re-seal, or what?

I've preordered ADVENTURES OF HAJJI BABA. It's one of the few sword-and-sandal pictures that I've never seen. In fact, I don't know anyone who's ever seen it.

I've seen it, it's great. Very unusual use of the widescreen frame, it will look lovely on Blu-ray. Plus the Nat King Cole theme rules
