Or 17th Century German mercenaries and teachers played by cockneys and Egyptians. Though it was by far his biggest hit - it even outgrossed The Fly and The Great Escape. Maybe Sid's just out of fashion these days.

You can also see which films are supposed to be blue or clear cases on the pics in the first post on this thread. ![]() |

The first post of this thread is not 100% reliable though, because my recent order of Remains of the Day came in a clear case even though it was an older title that should have been in a blue case. |

Your post reminded me of a wonderful lyric in the Broadway musical, A Chorus Line, in which one of the male characters reminisces about being a teenage kid "... locked in the bathroom with Peyton Place..." |

Anyone knows if Twilight Time's shipping is currently customs friendly, for a single blu-ray? Thanks!

From Screen Archives or Twilight Time? I have an order of two titles coming directly from Twilight Time, due to arrive today or tomorrow, I can let you know what they put down for value on the Customs declaration.

Twilight Time. That would be great, thanks! But did you ask them to mark it down when you placed the order?

Yeah, but there's nothing I can do about the shipping, I don't think their titles are sold anywhere else, except SAE, but the shipping costs are the same. Customs fees would be even worse, not to mention the delays, hence my question.

Thought I'd throw a recommendation for another under-the-radar TT title. "Take a Girl Like You" features an incredibly irresistible Hayley Mills as a young, naive girl who moves to a small British town to lead a more simple life, only to find herself the center of attention among many horny dudes, particularly the roguish Patrick (Oliver Reed), who attempts to woo her at every point, and the local playboy (Noel Harrison).
This is a fantastic film, with Reed and Mills both leaning into their roles with gusto. Mills plays innocence to perfection, but provides the character with much-needed depth and humor. Reed looks like he was knocking back a few bottles per day at this point, with full on facial bloat that made him look at least 15 years older than he actually was. But that was the beauty of Oliver Reed. The guy had so much natural charisma that he disappears into his role right away and you believe that Mills would actually be falling for him. The contrast is jarring at first, with Mills looking like the picture of fresh-faced youth and Reed looking like the picture of stepping out of a bar in the middle of the afternoon, but Reed just makes it work because he was such a brilliant actor. The conclusion of this film is unexpected and darkly humorous. One could easily think this is a light rom-com by reading the description, but it is really a satirical look at the way us men tend to have expectations of women that we don't really apply to our own behavior. Reed gives a fantastic performance as a man who has put up a lot of facades, but is ultimately forced to abandon them by a woman he initially thinks is extremely naive and innocent. His performance is among his best, and Mills' performance matches his every step of the way. To further urge everyone to pick up this film, the TT disc features a gorgeous transfer that far exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend picking this film up when you have a chance. Auto Focus arrived today and I've already delved in. A lovely stacked edition of one of the most underrated films by Paul Schrader.
