Shipping is incremental and not a flat fee, although the per disc cost is usually lower the more you buy.

The sales seem to have become less frequent, and the pricing less attractive. Certainly through SAE anyway (from whom I've purchased almost all of my TT titles).

What is it you want? Are you quoting the price from TT direct, or from SAE (granted there may not be much difference)?

If like me, you're in the UK, it's $43 plus customs & Post Office charges, making it $50+. I'd still pay that for a title I really wanted, but they haven't released anything I've wanted for ages, & like others have said, their sales are not as good as they used to be. The last title I bought was Cat Ballou, & that was in a sale for $15, so under the customs limit. They have a couple of titles I'd buy if they went down to that price in a sale (Genghis Khan & The Admirable Crichton), but it doesn't look like that'll happen. There would normally be an announcement on new releases by now over at the HTF, but nothing so far, & no new announcements last month, I don't know what's happening over at TT.

For the last few years, at least, HTF has almost always posted TT's monthly new release announcements on the third Saturday of every month. The third Saturday of this month was last weekend, the 17th. And, as CinemaScope says, there is no announcement today. I won't jump to any conclusions, but it is highly unusual. Maybe HTF no longer has exclusive rights to posting TT's new release announcements.

I get the feeling TT is taking a little time to regroup after the passing of Redman and the Disney acquisition of Fox.

Now on resplendent hi-def Blu-ray: The director of the groundbreaking Oregon Trail epic The Big Trail (1930) returns to the rugged frontier and serves up the rousing tale of a cross-country cattle drive fraught with danger, frisky with romantic rivalries and fired with action. “They must have had The Tall Men in mind when they invented Cinemascope™. It's a big, robust Western that fills the wide screen with a succession of panoramic scenes of often incredible beauty” (Variety).

Mind games, both for its characters and the audience, fuel the mesmerizing suspense of Whirlpool (1949), a polished noir thriller reuniting director Otto Preminger with his Laura star Gene Tierney, giving one of her best performances as a mentally troubled socialite caught shoplifting – and ensnared in the dark scheme of a manipulative astrologer/hypnotist (José Ferrer) to frame her for murder. Richard Conte and Charles Bickford co-star as Tierney’s psychiatrist husband and the investigating police detective. Written for the screen by Ben Hecht (Spellbound, Where the Sidewalk Ends) and Andrew Solt (In a Lonely Place), and hauntingly scored by another Laura veteran, the great David Raksin

If true, I hope that they come to the conclusion that their sale pricing must get more aggressive if they wish to keep up with what is left of the physical media market. Personally, I don't need their films for the prices they're selling them at.

Sometimes sale pricing reflects how much stock of a title they hold. Kino recently noted that the reason some titles in their anniversary sale were more expensive than in previous sales was because they had fewer unsold copies to shift this time.

Have you got TT’s blu of Baby the Rain Must Fall yet? If so, can I please request an Aclea movie review when you rewatch the movie?

Hopefully with the same 4.0 track with highly directional dialogue that is on the German Blu-ray.

Got to think that as it was released in early 2017, it will be on sale at some point. I think I'm right in saying that two-year old titles have been offered as low as $15 in past sales, but in the most recent sale previous $15 titles were offered at $22.

I'm a Brit expat and I've sent many parcels back to the UK over the past 20 years. Shipping rates have definitely increased considerably, but I find it hard to believe both SAE and TT want $13 to ship one BD - unless they insist on tracking.

The UK customs/tax fees are completely egregious, with a pathetically low "duty-free" threshold. They are the main reason I stopped sending anything over. I just got fed up with the Inland Revenue treating things like a Lego set for my nephew as an easy payday.

Hope you get lucky with a sale. Or a Region B release.

My buying at the most recent KL sale focused on the cheapest titles figuring that their price indicated they would soon go OOP. I hope I did not make a mistake, meaning other more expensive titles will go OOP before the next sale.
