That sums up my feelings.

I haven't ordered it yet but I expect to.

The thing about Burt Bacharach and Hal David is that they were very much composers "of their time". There was nobody better at composing music for the time when they composed music. If you needed music in 1973, Bacharach and David delivered the very best 1973 music possible.

The downside is, for me at least, a lot of their work lacks the timeless quality that is desirable in a musical. LOST HORIZON sounds dated. It has that sound that marked the twilight of the era of flower children. LOST HORIZON sounds like a 1973 movie. Nobody ever says that THE SOUND OF MUSIC "sounds like a 1965 movie".

On the other hand, that's not necessarily a bad thing if, like me, you hold a fond nostalgia for the early 70's. In 1973, I was entering my first year of high school, a used 396 Chevelle could be bought for $900.00 and the girls all wore long hair. If you have to be stuck in an era, you could do worse.

But if it's getting close to being no longer available, I may have to just bite the bullet.
There are 2,096 copies left. It's not going anywhere anytime soon.

Go to their website, add a title to your Wish List, change the Item Quantity to 3,000 and then hit Update.

Flight of the Phoenix is the perfect TT title imo, but one I really want to see them release is King Rat.
that film is so good, and I certainly don't see another avenue for it to be released.
TT really needs to release more war films imo. There are so many good Fox and Columbia ones just begging to be released.
I also really want Peyton Place and The Valley of the Dolls.
The Agony & The Ecstasy is a must have for me if Twillight release it

I sure hope so. However, I also recall when THOSE MAGNIFICENT MEN IN THEIR FLYING MACHINES was all but promised by Fox but was eventually released by Twilight Time.

And why does Robert Crawford still incorrectly abbrerviate Blu-ray Disc as BRD?

Ohhhh...somewhere in the province of rumour during my travels around the 'Net Akijama. But that was quite awhile ago, so I think your info from Fox on the HTF is more recent and reliable.

BTW, there seems to be some confusion over my references to the upcoming Blu-ray releases of Agony and the Ecstasy and Fantastic Voyage. Both of these titles are slated for retail release by Fox on their own label, not via Twilight Time.

I agree, its a must for me no matter who releases it. I saw it for the first time this year and loved it. It ranks right up there as one of my favorite films.

Thank you. It seems like most titles still have half of the inventory left. At least the ones that I checked. With so many copies, I might stick it in my wish list for a while on the off chance that one of those rare sales comes along.

It is on the SAE site www.screenarchives.com. You also need to be signed in. Then the 'Add to Wish List' button appears under each film (or CD) there.

Hope that helps.

Pre-orders are usually a couple weeks before the release date.

Hell yeah ! Easily my favorite film they've released. Do they do an isolated score track for every release? (the three I own have them) The John Williams score is a favorite of mine.

I can't comment on Pony Soldier, jrsl, but I've seen Nicholas & Alexandra a few times. Yes, it's an epic in the old British mode of high production values, lavish costumes and sets, and detail-rich dialogue; it's a bit staid and capital-w worthy, but with a script by British playwrights Edward Bond (who wrote Nicholas Roeg's Walkabout) and James Goldman (who wrote Lion in Winter), it has some resonant scenes and does a good job of depicting the history and politics behind the story. One of its highlights is Tom Baker, many people's favourite Doctor Who (the one with the jelly babies and the floor-length scarf and trench coat) as a volatile Gregor Rasputin.

I'd say it's definitely worth seeing, but it depends on how much historical costume epics appeal to you as to whether it's worth buying.

Thanks so much. That's about what I gathered from the trailer. It looks interesting though.
