MegaCorporation shipping discount do put things a bit in perspective when a small company has to do something similar and just don't have access to that volume discount. Small companies generally have to pay normal consumer rates

Shipping from UK (or Germany) to US is also substantially cheaper than the reverse though. AUS to the US is more comparable to the US to AUS discounting the Economy Sea route which I don't think the US even has a comparable service.
I still think many EU/UK postal system are significantly subsidized (esp Germany/UK ) since they are still considered a Public Need rather than a std Profit 1st Business like US and AUS.

A similar AUS up to 2kg package to the US is $65-100AUD Std/Economy Air or Express (similar to Priority) -- for individuals. I'm sure major commercial dealers get better rates just like all countries.

All these titles currently selling out at TTM are still more than available at SAE -- except Most Beautiful Wife which was one of two TTM only titles back in March (The Remains of the Day which sold out very early)

Thinking about grabbing a last few titles in this sale but the timing really sucks with the Vinegar Syndrome sale only two weeks away.

Anyone have thoughts on any of the titles below? I'm undecided.

Angel (aka Danny Boy)
Gilda Crane
Hell and High Water
The Keys of the Kingdom
Untamed
The Keys of the Kingdom is one of those long, extravagant 20th Century-Fox religious epics that might be best described as a brother to The Song of Bernadette. It was Gregory Peck's second movie, and he's absolutely stunning in it, winning his first Oscar nomination for his performance. It has a fantastic supporting cast that includes Thomas Mitchell, Vincent Price, Roddy McDowall, Anne Revere, and more; features a typically lush score by Alfred Newman (Oscar-nominated); and is beautifully photographed by Arthur C. Miller (also Oscar-nominated). I was quite taken by it when I first saw it on The Late Show many years ago, and really enjoyed revisiting it again on the Twilight Time blu-ray.

I pre ordered Mary Queen Of Scots from Kino. My fellow royalist/ anglophile aunt has been telling me for a few years to watch Anne of the Thousand Days. Could there be a chance of another label releasing it in the future?

The Hospital
The Hospital is on my list of the four great black comedies from the past century - those are The Hospital, Network, Used Cars, & And Justice for All.

Sadly (at least for me), The Hospital has not aged well. Perhaps this is because it was more shocking in its time when doctors and hospitals were held in much higher regard.

Still I am grateful that TT brought us a nice blu-ray release. I am pleased to have it. Even though it does not live up to my fond memories, it has George C. Scott and Diana Rigg which makes it well worth the purchase price.

TT has sold out of Gun Fury and Comes a Horseman while I was putting my order together. Hopefully, SAE with drop their prices.

TT's put out so many great films over the years, nothing but love for what they have given film collectors. I'd already figured they were shutting down, but the excellent releases they gave so many under-the-radar gems will long be remembered.

In terms of its main plot, Whirlpool is implausible, but it's extremely well-produced and its technical merits are unimpeachable. Gene Tierney gives one of her best performances, and Charles Bickford is also effective; I'm going to deliberately and pointedly not make any comments about Richard Conte or Jose Ferrer. I think the film works best not as a crime melodrama, but as a commentary on the dynamics between women and men in the late 1940's, particularly within the framework of marriage. You know me well enough to know that I'm going to recommend it based on Gene Tierney's presence alone, but my prejudices aside, it truly is worth a look.

I cannot tell you how sad I feel that this sale must occur.

Thank you, Twilight Time, for the thirty-five blu-rays that I have in my collection that were produced by you!

While I was never a big fan of your prices, your company's curatorship was outstanding!

Bravo!

For some reason the $5 off $50 code isn’t working for me. The correct code is Coins, right? Maybe it doesn’t combine with the 10 for $115 offer. The shipping is high as well. Over $20 for 12 titles. If anyone has one of those $2 off each title codes they don’t want to use I’d be very grateful for it.

The UK's Royal Mail is privatised and run purely for profit. Like most former UK state owned public services services it was sold off significantly below its value to raise quick cash for pre-election tax cuts. One of their big cashcows is charging an £8 'inspection fee' on parcels with a value over £15 (including postage in that total) coming into the UK from outside the EU.

There's a licensing freeze on all Fox titles right now due to the Disney buyout so very unlikely. Anyway, it's $12 minus shipping on the TT site due to the sale. Great movie. Great price. Great transfer. Perfect double feature paired with MaryQOS- why wait?

It seems to be working, do you have Three Coins In The Fountain in your cart?

The only thing is, I'm not sure I want to pay shipping for just that title! That's all!

Comes a Horseman has a better, more extras-heavy edition in the UK from BFI.

Well it's a sad goodbye but I went out with a bang (I usually order 2 or 3 judging by my order history). With these 5, I'll end up with 41 Twilight Time discs total.

A Prayer For The Dying (Blu-ray) $6.95
Snake In The Eagle's Shadow / Drunken Master (Blu-ray) $11.95
Alice (Blu-ray) $6.95
Hospital, The (Blu-ray) $11.95
Rapid Fire (Blu-ray) $11.95

And so it ends....
