Highly recommended! Get them while you can. Olivia DeHavilland and Gene Tierney are always worth the upgrade. Both are based on gothic-themed novels of the 20th century. Both are very atmospheric.

Both are solid gothic-romance films. I wasn't a huge fan of "Dragonwyck" when I first watched it but it grew on me during repeat viewings. Gene Tierney and Vincent Price are a great combo.

Thanks y’all! Yeah Vincent Price and Olivia De Havilland are definitely my main draws for each of those! Why’s Dragonwyck iffy at first if I may ask?

Possibly expectations - I first saw it in Fox's horror movie triple bill DVD, and it's not really horror, though it is definitely gothic. On a second viewing with different expectations I was able to appreciate and enjoy it for what it actually was.

I didn't grab much and while TT wasn't my favorite label and I didn't ever really buy much, sad to see one go. Ordered Short Night of Glass Dolls, Doll of Satan, and Rapid Fire.

TRUE STORY OF JESSE JAMES
SAYONARA

Those four kind of stood out for me, but they would all be blind buys and reviews I checked weren't overly enthusiastic. Well, does anyone have any quick thoughts to share about those titles?
Humbug on all of you for ignoring my post above and not stepping up to take pity on me and my pathetic plea for help! Not one single person offered even a meager crumb of advice on the four titles I was unsure of ordering. Ok, I'll remember that when YOU need help! So I just forged ahead without any of you and ordered all four! That'll show you! However, if I wind up not liking any of the movies I'll expect total reimbursement from each and every one of you. Thank you. Drive safely.

Sorry -- I think we've all been busy just getting our orders in!

I actually haven't seen any of these, but I went for KEYS OF THE KINGDOM because of the recommendations here...and the FOX thing, which I've voiced my opinion on elsewhere in this forum! And I nearly went for SAYONARA, but passed. The other two westerns both got nice takes here from other members within the last couple of months, I think... but I had to stop somewhere!

The Driver would've been on mine as well, though I'm glad I picked up the UK StudioCanal release.

Thinking of the ones that got away for me (largely because I hadn't started collecting yet by the time they were gone).

I wonder how many titles Twilight Time had licensed from the studios, but was never able to put them out before they suddenly ceased new releases. Surely, they still had some in the pipeline which will just be surrendered.

It really is a shame to see such a great label officially close shop.

Sorry Prof, I was going to reply "Just get all of them" but decided against the unhelpful comment. I see now the error of my ways.

"The True Story of Jesse James" is decent but underwhelming. The opening robbery scene is excellent but after you start to realize that the film reeks of contractual obligation (Nicholas Ray owed Fox one more film). Robert Wagner is a dull Jesse James and the way he talks in the film makes it sound like somebody who only knows John Wayne through impressions. Jeffrey Hunter is probably the only member of the cast that even remotely looks like he gives a shite.

"Sayonara" is okay but Brando's southern accent could be a potential turn-off for some folks (it's not completely over the top but it can make the viewer wonder why he needed to have one). Red Buttons and Miyoshi Umeki are the real highlights.

I can't give any opinions about "Keys of the Kingdom" nor "The Return of Frank James" since I have not watched either yet (that un-watched pile ain't getting any lighter).

Hopefully the Dollar-Real exchange rate won't be too obscene in the next couple of days so I can order Husbands & Wives and The Effects of Gamma Rays...
