It is also possible that they had to pick this up in a package to do Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, which they had been trying to release since the early 90s. (A different company, but Sony is rumored to have had them take The Big Chill so they could do Tootsie.)

There was also Gorilla at Large. And two others that TT wanted but ended up not getting them:

(1) Centennial Summer, due to underlying rights issues, and

(2) The Paper Chase, which they said that Fox told them was already spoken for by another label. Since it still hasn't been released by anyone on Blu-ray, my guess would be Criterion.

I'm not a "TT completist", but I want it. The European Blu-ray releases are reportedly sub-par.

While I'm sure that there are "TT completists" who still don't have it, I'm willing to bet that a lot of the people who want it are more likely to be Fox CinemaScope releases completists, Gene Tierney completists, or Michael Curtiz completists.

As others have already pointed out, there are options from Europe for 9 to 5.

Disney haven't released anything through their Club for a while and even their exclusives have been limited to a handful of live action titles released under the Disney brand. Many of the other titles in their library from the likes of Touchstone or Hollywood Pictures (for example What About Bob and the Ladykillers) are still unreleased on blu-ray.

Barebones releases though, so the TT still retains value

I have several TT titles on my wish list. Some are: The Egyptian, Kiss Of Death, The Mysterious Island, Solomon And Sheba, Demetrius And The Gladiators and Theater Of Blood. I never got the chance to get any of those.

ARMAGEDDON was a blockbuster they were associated with due to a relationship they had with Disney and particularly Michael Bay at the time.

ROBINSON CRUSOE ON MARS was a personal favorite of the Criterion founder, and was always a well reviewed sci-fi picture from its time period. Keep in mind it also hadn't been released on home video before at all.

There's nothing about THE EGYPTIAN that would fit into the above classifications. And it's obviously at Disney now, so that's the end of that anyway.
That's right and don't forget that Sergei Eisenstein, Ingmar Bergman and Carl Theodore Dreyer all claimed that THE ATOMIC SUBMARINE was the greatest movie ever made about an...atomic submarine. So that accounts for that being in the Criterion Collection.

For me, the one that got away is Bye Bye Birdie. I kick myself for not picking it up when it was on sale for $20. Now it's 3 figures on eBay.

Bye Bye Birdie is Columbia/Sony, so I retain hope of another U.S. release.

Does SAE also sell those Clear Cases on their own? Cannot find those in the shop and would like to include some during my next order.

Not to my knowledge, but doesn't hurt emailing them and asking if they can carry them in the future.

Disney isn't even releasing their own stuff on Blu-ray anymore like the Mandalorian which would guarantee them millions of dollars in sales. I wouldn't hold out hope for them to license out lesser known titles, at least for the time being.
It might be worthwhile if they realize that there are a lot of non Disney branded films that they now own that people either don't know that they own them, or would care to get Disney+ to watch it... assuming Disney even bothered to put such titles on Disney+

They want to push everyone to a subscription service with monthly cash flow directly to them. They will add those titles maybe to a more adult part of Disney+ or a separate Streaming Service in the Future. They are just not interested in physical media anymore; they never were. But now they are in a position to ignore physical media more or less completely. With the exception of their really high profile titles. Here in Germany, they re-release the Star Wars Movies nearly once a year in slightly different packaging. That’s the only kind of Disney physical release, that is still happening...

Yep , and it's a damn shame. The Disney takeover of Fox is arguably the worst thing to happen to movie collectors in the entire history of personal movie ownership.

I do wonder if Fox would still have been sold off had they not lost rights to 5 of the 6 Star Wars films. It's a shame Lucas didn't sell Lucasfilm to Fox instead.

Will someone please sell your copy to AllABoutMatt here!! Unless you're a fan of the film, you really don't need it and it seems like he really wants it.
