ROLLERBALL (1975 / ENCORE EDITION)

Fewer than 100 copies:

GRAN BOLLITO (BLACK JOURNAL / 1977)
VALACHI PAPERS, THE (1972)
PANIC IN NEEDLE PARK, THE (1971)
HAPPY ENDING, THE (1969)
BEAT THE DEVIL (1953 / REGION A ONLY)

Fewer than 150 copies:

I WANT TO LIVE (1958)
AMERICAN BUFFALO (1996) (CLOSE OUT PRICING)

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S SEX COMEDY (1982)
ROMEO IS BLEEDING (1993)

In addition to DD, since the last time I checked, these titles are all missing from SAE and presumed to be sold out. It's rather odd that so many left in a relative short period of time and only The Boston Strangler was less than 50 copies the last time I checked 4 weeks ago.
Admittedly these appear to be fairly popular titles most with high level cast/directors, but odd that all these went relatively quickly. Basically 8 total titles sold out in almost a year, then 6 within a few weeks with little notice and no significant price drops

BOSTON STRANGLER, THE (1968)
DOCTOR DOLITTLE (1967)
HOSPITAL (1971), THE
PANIC IN NEEDLE PARK, THE (1971)
ROLLERBALL (1975 / ENCORE EDITION)
TWO FOR THE ROAD (1967)

I thought I was done with Twilight Time but I decided to take advantage of the discount code to pick up these two titles:

[Show spoiler]

A couple of strong female performances. I think that might really be it for me now, but does anyone have any opinions on Oklahoma Crude and Comes a Horseman (I know about the PQ issues on Horseman) just in case I change my mind?

I know they're out-of-print now, but I wanted to ask how Twilight Time's Blu-ray releases of Gun Fury and Miss Sadie Thompson look.

They're both about on-par, presentation-wise, with other "Golden Age" 3D titles like "Inferno" and "Wings of the Hawk".

Less than a week after I ordered the AUS release. Well timed. Ah well, at least it was cheap and I'll get to try out a new label once it gets here.

We of the Never Never (1982) ORIGINAL TRAILER [HD 1080p] - YouTube

"Once it gets its hooks in you, you'll Never Never want to leave."

We of the Never Never was a real surprise: sounding like one of a thousand other woman-making-her-way-on-the-frontier stories, albeit set in the Australian outback, it actually turns out to be a terrific piece of old-style epic filmmaking on a grand scale. The unexpected casting pays dividends: Angela Punch McGregor conveys just the right strength of character for someone simultaneously trying to fit in where she's not wanted and who is still open to what those around her have to offer, white or Aborigine, while Arthur Dignam's very unlikeliness as a cattle station manager works in his favor. Gary Hansen's scope photography is truly breathtaking, and director Igor Auzin's mastery of the frame without losing sight of his characters is so impressive that you wonder why he only made one more feature (going overbudget and consequently leaving part of the script unfilmed is probably the reason: on the doc on the Australian disc some of the cast are still disappointed about what never get shot, but the finished film doesn't feel at all disjointed). The 2.35:1 ratio is not just window dressing either: not only does it stress both the vastness and hard beauty of the place, but it also serves to highlight the marginalization of the various characters by class, gender or race. Pretty terrific.

Don't know HORSEMAN (except that the screenwriter got fired off the first TREK movie, which is probably a badge of honor), but CRUDE has got some phenomenally good matte paintings and a terrific score. I've resisted owning it because there is a murder without any consequences in the film that really bothers me, so I only watch it every 15 years or so. NZPETE's amazing matte painting blog has some great screen grabs of the fx, including I think some of the paintings before they were composited.

Does anyone know if Julia (1977) originally released in a blue box? And if so, does it have the same A/V specs as the white box release and include the same commentary track?

Thanks in advance.

My (still sealed) copy, bought upon release, is in a clear case.
