Does anyone know how the Signal One Next Stop, Greenwich Village compares to the TT? Let's Make Love looks about the same so I'm looking to import that disc, but I know my Signal One of The Seven-Ups is not as good as the OOP TT. Anyway hopefully they are similar enough because I already placed a TT order without it:

As ever with TT, I am shopping based on a gamble that a new edition will not become available. Kid Galahad is MGM, so it seems most likely to be reissued, but it's hard to tell with anything older than, say, 1968 (unless it's a crime film). Bobby Deerfield and My Sister Eileen are with Sony, but Indicator hasn't shown interest yet, and if the license was seven years, they're not available to KL yet. (I doubt KLSC would touch My Sister Eileen anyway!)

The others are Fox. I don't know why I never picked up Black Widow before! I think I remember getting the impression it was mediocre as noir goes? But then Gunsnroses092789 got me thinking about Nunnally Johnson…and anyway there are plenty of "minor" noirs that I love! The Gang's All Here I think I kept waiting and hoping that I'd find the OOP Region B Eureka MoC one at a reasonable price. But honestly I don't hate the colors of the TT transfer, even if it is much darker.

The Vanishing was not on sale because it's "out of print" even though they seem to have a whole bunch of them. I finally went for it anyway, in part thanks to Jonathan Rosenbaum's mention in Cinema Scope, reposted to his blog last month.

I don't think you'll regret it. It's a really good little noir with a great cast. I've seen it probably 4 or 5 times. And if you're looking to dig deeper into Nunnally Johnson, check out The Man In The Gray Flannel Suit— I can't help but think this was on TT's radar and they might even have had the license because they promised more Gregory Peck and this title has a 4K restoration (which played on Criterion Channel recently). Also, Kino released Night People, which is another great film with Peck & by Johnson.

I've done quick comparisons and they're both about on par with each other.

Screen Archives Entertainment has another Twilight Time 25% off sale going on until midnight tonight. There's a promo code you need to put in before checking out (TWILIGHT1222).

Years later and I'm still conflicted about picking up Eureka. The cast alone is persuasive enough motivation, but it sounds like such a confused oddity.

Might get rereleased by other labels since it's an MGM title.

I know I'm quoting two posts from two and a half years ago. I wish I'd known about the Twilight Time Blu-ray release of Edge of Eternity a few years ago (and if I did see it on here or on Screen Archives before, it must have gone out of my mind as quickly as it arrived). I did check Screen Archives and discovered that yes, it's now out-of-print (then seeing it posted about in this thread (after doing a post search in this thread).

Edge of Eternity had an airing on Talking Pictures TV last week (as part of their Saddle Up! western programming). In the last couple of days, have started watching my recording of it. As it's a Columbia film, is there a realistic hope of Edge of Eternity getting a Blu-ray re-release by another boutique label?

That's unfortunate. I jumped on the wagon when they announced they would stop producing new titles and bought pretty much all I could have an interest in including blind buys, such as this title.

There's an Amazon seller with a new copy for $40.

A new copy recently sold on ebay for $18.52.

I did the same, especially during those closeout sales for under $10. Bought most of what interested me, including some gambles that in hindsight I'm really glad I made.

I'll still occasionally shop SAE during their quarterly TT sales, but that's getting harder each time - my remaining wish list is shrinking, making it harder to find the 4-5 titles needed to justify SAE's steep shipping costs.

On the positive side of things, compared to my previous post about the TT Blu-ray of Edge of Eternity, I was glad to have got a new copy (directly from Screen Archives) last year of The Revolt of Mamie Stover, after watching an edition of an arts interview series where Jane Russell was interviewed. And I also managed to get a used copy of Peyton Place last year or the year before, so it's not all bad.

I still want to get a copy of We of the Never Never (there is the TT release of course, as well as the Australian release by Umbrella). Some of the films released by TT have had subsequent releases by at least one UK boutique label, so it's a bit delicate with whether to choose to get the TT release of a film before it goes out-of-print, or to wait for a possible UK release.

Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.

Will have a good look through the TT titles they have remaining, but on my list of titles I want to get on Screen Archives, there are more music score/soundtrack CD albums than TT titles.

I'd like to repeat what others have said in this thread, that the front cover artwork etc. TT did has been quality stuff.

It sounds like I may have asked already in the past but do you recall more details of that Jane Russell interview or the series? I always love watching her interviews. Aside being such a beautiful woman she was always very frank and honest. I can listen to her talk about anything.
PS: I have The Revolt Of Mamie Stover, TT edition as well as some ugly-looking package from France.
Also gives me another reason to post Jane as a redhead. I mean, look at her.
