BTW, Drums Along the Mohawk will also include the 93 minute Becoming John Ford documentary. Never seen it but just looked it up on IMDb...and get this...directed by Nick Redman, written by Julie Kirgo, and scored by Christopher Caliendo (of Major Dundee Extended Edition score fame). Looks like old home week for the TT crew...perhaps this is why Fox let them run with it? |

Interesting choices. I knew about Oliver! and will probably buy that one. But I'm also very interested in The Way We Were, Drums Along the Mohawk, and Jane Eyre, none of which I've seen. And there's a couple others that I was unfamiliar with but they sound interesting as well. What a difference, considering none of the June, July or August releases had really sparked my interest enough to cough up $30.

We don't seem have a lot of IST fans on this board, but I'm especially thrilled by the audio line-up in this batch of announcements. Ry Cooder is welcome anytime. Ditto for Alfred Newman. Since I don't have a particularly good recording of Bernard Herrmann's score for Jane Eyre, that one is highest on my 'must hear' list though: Last edited by ROclockCK; 06-05-2013 at 05:43 AM. |

obviously psyched for Drums Along the Mohawk and Jane Eyre among the newly announced titles.
great news for classic film lovers! ![]() (have to feel like Fox will release DATM wide in other countries) wonder if the OP could be updated with the new announcements and the changes to the other release dates. ![]() any mods out there?? ![]() Last edited by Arkadin; 06-05-2013 at 12:45 PM. |

Very excited about Mindwarp and Alamo Bay.
Now if I am correct, these have never been released to dvd here in region 1? I thought that the Columbia deal only allowed them to release films that were previously on dvd, but now will be Blu-ray for TT. If they got a new deal that allows for never before released content...I'm game. |

I'd like TT to release:
OBSESSION (Herrmann score isolated) HOMICIDAL (Friedhofer score) SHOCK TREATMENT (1964, Goldsmith score) 1776 THE INCIDENT |

Earlier TT had stated emphatically that they had no other horror titles in the works until The Blob (I don't have the quote handy, but it was on Facebook and posted on this forum), and now we have Mindwarp and The Other in the pipeline for October? I'm certainly not complaining, but does that now mean we can possibly expect other horror titles before The Blob?

The one title I would actually love if TT got the rights is PT Anderson's Hard Eight (aka Sydney). I'm dying to watch this in HD, and it has one of my favorite scores ever, which has sadly, never been released.
The now oop dvd from Sony has pieces of isolated score in one of the two commentary tracks, but of course it's 192 Dolby Stereo. Such wonderful music deserves to be had in some lossless form. |

Well, THE OTHER is held in pretty high esteem and not just amongst horror critics. The novel was a popular bestseller at the time (you couldn't escape it) and the film does the book justice. Still, I can see younger audiences thinking the film may be a bit slow or sedate. I'm thrilled TT is putting it out. I didn't know this: "In post-production, editing done to the film caused over half of Jerry Goldsmith's music to be left out. The soundtrack was finally available in 1997 along with The Mephisto Waltz." So it will also be cool to hear the whole score.
Now, MINDWARP is another story altogether. It was one of 3 Fangoria-produced Columbia films, none of them very good. The other two were SEVERED TIES and CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT (this one was released on DVD by Sony years ago, but is now OOP). |

LOL, ya I'll buy it, too. It's kind of fun when TT throws us an insane curveball like this - a pretty obscure straight-to-video movie that not that many people wanted or expected or thought possible. Makes you realize that absolutely ANYTHING is possible. I'm sure there will be those who say it's not deserving on Blu because there are so many other worthy movies out there, so why MINDWARP of all things??? Hopefully, Bruce Campbell's fanclub will help move some units...

Yep, I'm also a huge fan of both BLOBs. And heck, I even love SON OF BLOB (aka Beware the Blob)! Wish someone would pick that up again as the Image disc was a cheap full-frame release and no extras whatsoever.

![]() But I don't recall this glitch being anywhere near a full second (24 frames). More like 7 or so... |
