yes it was cool for TT to have a sale for people that had always dreamed of one, but honestly it kind of felt like a slap in the face to me.
(just the way I felt at the time; but I'm happy for people that really benefitted from it) It was just kind of love it/hate it kind of deal for people that had spent the full amount on every title imo.
and, of course, some people will probably just wait out a bunch of slower sellers now--waiting for a possible sale down the road. I mean who wants to feel like a chump again.
I know I don't.

Thanks,

I fit this description too. Would seem a lot more ethical to offer a deal for their more regular customers, sort of like a "loyalty reward'.

Having the sale was a double-edged sword, IMO. Was selling a few more copies via the sale worth having what many of the fan base feel it was a 'slap in the face'? It was probably a one-time event, maybe not to repeat for two or three more years, or maybe not. But it does give someone reason to hold back now on the slower selling stuff, enough so that perhaps they'll really "need" to have a sale next time.

It seems if you ordered one or two titles, those are getting shipped, as others have posted in here. 2 or more titles seem to be taking time, which is what my orders are. Maybe they ran out of boxes...Patience is wearing thin, considering it's now 2 weeks since the 19th when the orders were placed and all the titles were supposedly in stock...
Two of my orders have finally shipped.

I own nearly all the TT blu-rays, and I didn't feel like it was a slap in the face. It's the nature of internet shopping. Prices fluctuate all the time & there will always be a sale you miss or a sale that comes too late. I certainly don't begrudge the customers who were table to take advantage of the TT sale.

I'm glad of that, but obviously some feel differently. I guess people were under the impression that 'no discounts' and 'no sales' were a part of the business model so that people could buy in confidence knowing that they have nothing to gain by waiting. I had mixed feelings myself, as I had seven of the titles on sale already but was able to take advantage of most of the rest. I certainly can't complain.

I don't see anything wrong with it myself, this sale was open to more people to discover those titles that have fallen by the way side, that weren't willing to pay top dollar, I know myself I don't buy every title, because some don't have replay value for me.

And are these Infiniti cases even available in batches smaller than 1,000 from any seller? I would kind of like to keep All The King's Men in the same type of case if feasible(OCD is getting the best of me).
All previous releases were released in Viva Elite cases so don't feel too dedicated to the Infiniti cases.

Neither do I. Even though I wasn't able to get any sale titles and there were ones I wanted. But it also makes me feel good that none of the TT titles I own were part of that sale. I just got Used Cars but I have been waiting a year since it was announced and I'm really excited to watch it again. Glass half full, maybe there will be another sale one day.

I received my order from FoxConnect's flash sale of less than a week ago today...still no shipping notice from TT's sale of twice that long back. And FoxConnect didn't even charge me for that much quicker shipping. Ah well...back to being (semi)patient.

The only thing i regret is i missed Fright Night which i cannot believe like others have said why only a limited release for such a movie.I have no problem paying for a title on Blu if i really want to add it to my collection and know it has high replay value or are just a true fan of that movie.I have purchased several titles from TT already and have no regrets, some have sold out, some have not.Waiting on Used Cars to ship and my next TT purchase will not be till The Blob. The more i think about it there are many titles that i would like to have on blu that may never come mainstream to the format and thanks to TT,some of those titles are being released. The price is high because of limited and no one is forcing you to buy or pay that amount, love it or leave it.The quality of the transfers and sound are excellent, along with the extras and artwork.I recommend Used Cars to anyone that likes comedy, this movie is another one of those forgotten little gems that you won't regret owning, now patiently awaiting The Blob pre-order date conformation

I truly don't understand why anyone should think it's a "slap in the face". It's no different than if your TV/internet/phone provider advertises a special price for the next 12 months, and specifies that it's for new subscribers only while old subscribers still have to pay the regular higher price. Or a store having a great sale price on an item months after you paid a higher price for that item in the same store.

Come on. Finding a sale insulting ? I have purchased movies on release date on hundred of occasions and they were later cheaper. So what? I paid $29.99 for Fox catalog titles in 2007. Tiles like The Fly (1986). Some of the TT titles that were on sale I own and I am happy others were able to buy and experience the movies on Blu-Ray. Nothing wrong with having a sale.

That's just the price one pays for early admission. Although I can understand the frustration given that TT has stated that they would NEVER discount their titles because it would devalue their brand.

Thanks for the response. I went ahead and ordered some Viva Elites on Ebay from the Casetopia store.

All The King's Men was wrapped in additional bubble wrap inside the bubble mailer and the case still wound up destroyed. I have had plenty of blu-rays packaged far worse get to me unscathed. I guess you just never know.

Did they actually said that? I know it was posted in the forums, but I believe it was speculation from collectors. I mean they've had one sale in three years and it was for titles which were not selling all that great.

I have no objection to a TT sale, although I only bought one discounted title. I wouldn't expect another sale from them until certain licenses expire, but I'm only speculating.

I'm not the one who originally said it, but I do understand why some would feel that way, that's all. It certainly wasn't a slap in the face to me, since I took advantage of the sale to the hilt.

Although I don't necessarily think having a sale is "wrong", I don't really know if it was a wise decision.

Do other studios have sales? Of course they do...all the time.

And I have learned to wait for those sale prices. Time was, when a movie I liked was released, I bought it. Simple. Then I started tracking prices and being observant of pricing policies. I know every $20.00 Fox title will eventually be $10.00...so I just wait. Sometimes, I even wait a couple years for marginal titles. Yesterday, I picked up a couple of older Blue Underground releases from 2009 and 2010 because I figured they'd be discounted if I waited long enough (and they were discounted by about 50%).

But I never waited for a Twilight Time title to be discounted. When they released something I wanted or was mildly interested in, I ordered it. I just assumed that the business model of limited editions and direct sales wouldn't really allow for discounting. Clearly I was wrong.

Suddenly, Twilight Time titles lack urgency for me. Sure, I will continue to pre-order those movies that I must have...I'll be pre-ordering THUNDERBIRDS and FATE IS THE HUNTER. However, I'm not likely to order any of the marginal titles or titles that I'm on the fence about. Prior to the sale, I would have thought, "Well, it's $29.95 today and it will be $29.95 next month so I might as well buy it today". Now, I might look at lesser titles and think, "I don't need this right away so maybe I'll just see if it's eventually discounted like other studio movies".
