Someone on Facebook asked Twilight Time why they hadn't switched to 6 releases per month yet as planned. They replied with this:

Quote:
Going to 5 a month has been a big adjustment -- we won't go to 6 until another of our pending studio deals is signed and sealed.
Interesting. Universal seems the obvious bet.

I'd hope for Disney live action since they've seemed to have had about zero interest in releasing much of anything pre-2000.

I hope they get Universal. Would love to see The Day of the Jackal, Play Misty for Me, Arabesque, Sugarland Express, Flower Drum Song, The Heiress, The Palm Beach Story etc.

This and Road To Wellville are my two most wanted titles on blu. Barring a TT release, I'm hoping either of them at least turn up in some foreign market.

There are any number of Universal titles I'd like to see, various Preston Sturges films being at the top of the list. But the single title I would most want to see is Resurrection. Not the Russell Mulcahy film, but the 1980 film with Ellen Burstyn. Universal released it on VHS, and it's currently available as an MOD DVD-R, but it was never released on pressed DVD, or even on LD.

I'd love to see them make a deal with Paramount. I've asked them on Facebook about it but it doesn't look like it's gonna happen anytime soon. (I'm sure they'd love to see it happen.)

Black Sunday, The Parallax View, The President's Analyst, Jerry Lewis' non-Nutty films, Islands in the Stream, Dragonslayer, Mommy Dearest, etc.

Warner currently distributes Paramount releases (and includes them in boxed sets nowadays), but it's not clear how much say, if any, they have in what Paramount licenses to other labels (rather like Fox and MGM). The only outside licensing deal Paramount's had so far is the one with Olive Films, which does include Paramount-proper titles, but is mostly Republic catalog material.

I know, but you can never license to too many labels. (Just look at MGM!)

But yeah, they mentioned WB in their Facebook reply. I imagine some of the titles I mentioned will come from them at some point (as if WB didn't have enough on their plate).

There are so many titles that I'd like from Universal:

THE GLASS MENAGERIE (1987)
RESURRECTION (1980)
RED SKY AT MORNING
THE NIGHT WALKER
MIDNIGHT LACE
INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN (remastered)
SWORD OF LANCELOT
ISLAND OF TERROR
MARNIE (remastered and/or restored)
MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH (1956, remastered and/or restored)
COLLEGE CONFIDENTIAL
and many others

Between Warner, Olive and the handful they've licensed to Criterion, Paramount really doesn't have a whole lot left except for franchises they kept for themselves. Don't forget that the Paramount sound films from 1929-1950 are owned by Universal.

Got an e-mail from TT stating the new releases are now shipping. They also said Thunderbolt and Lightfoot have less than 100 copies left and Magnificent Men has less than 200, so get moving if you want one....

They are now starting to ship out the new releases. Yours could ship tonight or next Wednesday by SAE's routine...

By the way, has TT announced August's Fox title yet? Last I heard, they'd only announced four titles for August, and someone here reported that they were still finalizing the deal for another one from Fox.

Same here. Thanks for passing that info along, jcs913.

By the way, is anyone interested in trading their copy of The Driver for my copy of Titus? If so, please send me a PM. Thanks.
