Are any of the current pre-orders likely to sell out quickly?

Depends on what you mean by "quickly". If you mean "within days", no, I wouldn't say any of the current pre-orders (the August titles, which should be out in a few days) will sell out that quickly. And I don't see any of the September titles selling out that quickly, either.

All of the last half-dozen or so releases that have sold out did so within a couple of months.

On edit: Alfredo Garcia took four months to sell out, Wild at Heart took 2½ months, and Rollerball and The Train both took about 1½ months.

More to the point, no one really knows what will sell out quickly and what won't. I expected Wild at Heart and Rollerball to sell out faster than they did, and was surprised that Thunderbolt and Lightfoot didn't take longer to sell out.

Yes thanks, I meant really quick. I would like to wait another month or two before my next TT purchase.

I just noticed an interesting nugget of information TT gave out on their Facebook page five days ago in response to a question asked countless times for the past two years in this thread. It was buried but I am doing laundry right now and having nothing better to do than dig around for gold.

I posted it as an update in the first post of this thread where the October titles are listed. Mark your calendars.

Gotta love the internet....such a friendly place. No need for your snark, dude. Just having a bit of fun and driving folks to actually take a look at the first post to this thread once in a while where they will find answers to many of the questions asked repeatedly here.

The pre-order date is up. If you do not see it, then
[Show spoiler]I suggest glasses, which will also help you when reading this: http://www.amazon.com/Dude-Thats-Rud.../dp/1575422336

nope not that I know of, so you could have the first or the 3000th one off the line

I assumed Sukie was asking if they have spine numbers, like Criterion or Redemption, not if they have "n/3000" limitation numbers. Either way, the answer is "no".

I was ignoring blu ray collecting for a long time due to life stuff. Sad to see a few movies I would like to own are on the sold out list. Is there any precedent for Twilight Time running off a second printing?

There is no precedent.

However, they've announced that they will be issuing four of their sold-out titles next year (go back to page 580 in this thread -- that's the beginning of the discussion here about it).

You can also get yourself a region free player...it is cheap and easy way to get some of the sold out titles .

Yeah, I was about to say that. Don't let companies like TT get all that hard earned dinero.

My BD player plays region free DVDs but not BDs. Maybe someday! For the two or three titles I really want I don't mind paying $30. I would never pay $30 for Sleepless in Seattle though, even though I like the movie. So it depends.

I hope it isn't too late to add a Top 10 list. (I guess even if it is, I'm going to do it anyway, right? )

I'm bending the rules a little as far as what the original post asked for. I don't think I could choose a Top 10 in terms of technical qualifications (like best PQ or AQ) ... so I'm going with my Top 10 as far as greatest anticipation from when the releases were announced. In other words, my Top 10 list is pretty much for nostalgia ... no blind buys included. I’m not sure which of the two Sinbad movies I like better, but thought one of them should be represented. Zulu would have *easily* made the list if I didn’t already own the UK bluray before TT’s version was released. Near misses were Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, the Flint movies and maybe Enemy Mine. Okay, on to the list! (in alphabetical order):

The Blue Max
Body Double
Bye Bye Birdie
Journey to the Center of the Earth
Mysterious Island
Rollerball
Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger
The Song of Bernadette
Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines
Thunderbirds Are Go / Thunderbird 6

Not trying to rekindle the debate on whether reissues damage the limited edition model, but here is another distributor's take on it, from a post in the German Monolith Monsters thread (which is limited to 1000 copies).

Surprised to see JOURNEY on this list, as the transfer was a disappointment for most (including me), and TT is coming out with a 4K restoration next year. Will you be buying it again? I will as I expect it'll look fantastic.
