I, for one, sincerely hope to see an announcement made to confirm that Mysterious Island will be an upcoming re-release on Blu-ray.

Wonderful news IMO re Judgment. That DVD is OOP and mildly expensive and, more importantly, TT is apparently licensing the original featurettes for inclusion on their BD.

Even Warner is now licensing "contemporary" (say, within the last 30 years) titles to TT. Is Heaven and Earth the first Warner film to go to TT?

the only reason that Heaven and Earth is going to TT is because Oliver stone is on good grounds with TT and pushed to have that one released through them.

to those who follow TT closely: do you expect Judgement at Nuremberg and The Birdman of Alcatraz to sell out? need to know if I should set a reminder on my phone.

Depends on how bad you want them. The fastest sell out took 7 hours.

Thanks for the reply. Oliver is quite chatty--always does commentaries and frequently presses the flesh with auds, like at the Alexander: Ultimate Cut screening I attended recently. Did he talk about his relationship with Nick/TT somewhere that you can link me to? Maybe he posted word on Facebook? I'll check there.

It's not that I'm questioning what you're saying. Rather, it's just that Oliver has a significant relationship with Warner Bros. June saw the Alexander: Ultimate Cut street and NBK gets the "Diamond Luxe" treatment in December. So it just seems wee curious to me that Heaven and Earth (BTW a knockout of a movie IMO) would go to TT (instead of, say, Warner Archive? Too "new" for that?) at the same time as Oliver is seeing a couple of other catalog re-issues from Warner (for the fourth time in the case of Alexander . . . and then there's last year's Untold History docu, also a Warner release).

Looks as if Twilight Time is now selling poster-sized prints of some of their designs. The newest one is of The Blob.

This was posted here a few months back. Don't know how to do a full quote of the message (so that embedded quotes appear), so here's the link. https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...82#post9532182

It remember seeing it on their FB page back then, but I can't even find the post where they made the announcements of their new releases in their old timeline, which is where that comment was lodged, so I guess it's been deleted.

TT put this out on their facebook page about it when the title was released

Twilight Time DVD Label: Heaven and Earth is indeed a WB title. It's a "one-off" driven by Oliver Stone who really wanted us to put it out.

So I'm guessing that WB would only license it out if it was released as a limited edition, similar to the theatrical cut of Nightbreed?

Thanks, gents. I wonder if WHV told Oliver "no" and/or if TT is going to do something unique with the title. The "Amazing Alternate 30-Minute Opening With Score From Kitaro" sounds right up TT's alley . . . I'm of course speculating but maybe this (and more?) is what Oliver wanted to include that WHV wasn't willing to do?

My fave of Oliver's 'Vietnam trilogy.'

Not necessarily. They did license out Badlands to Criterion, in a situation similar to Heaven and Earth with TT: pressure from the director to make the film available due to the director's existing relationship with the label.

Warner has also started to do limited licensing with Shout! Factory for their Mystery Science 3000 releases and for the better elements for the public domain House on Haunted Hill in the Vincent Price Vol. 2 release. So it seems to be some limited title-by-title licensing for Warner, but no signs for a group of catalog titles at once.

My best guess would be that these would last weeks at the very least. The appeal of these ones would seem roughly comparable to that of THE TRAIN, which according to wiki sold out about 6 weeks after its release date (so, more than 2 months after it was available for pre-order).

But hey--it's free to set yourself reminders to check a few times during pre-order week, and better safe than sorry.
