I need 1 more title to qualify for the free BD. What would you guys choose, The Believers or The Vanishing?

Thanks,
Tom

That is a tough call! Wish it was an easier options but I liked both films and own both BLU rays. Maybe The Believers because I see a re-release on BLU of that title less likely then say The Vanishing. That is just my collector opinion. but I think I liked both films about the same. I did think the 2.0 audio on The Believers was really great on my speakers.

Both equally good edge of your seat thrillers, I'd toss a coin if you can't get both

Audrey Rose - I would have totally went for the autographed copy but I already bought a copy. The free ones are awesome deals though. I am probably one of the few that likes this film I know it gets bashed but I like it for the time period and the pacing, and Marsha Mason is great in it.

Does anybody think that TT is going to offer more than one signed freebie per month, now that it's not tied to the preorders? Last month they had two of them, and already one this month even though it's only the 4th. If so, that would be good for those who have trouble scoring them normally. Nobody could find 8 titles to buy every month.

I was wondering because I was really tempted to get the Audrey Rose promo (even though I have it, I could still sell my sealed copy, although probably for significantly less than what I paid for it). I had it in my cart ready to push "confirm", but thought, what if they have another one this month for a title I really want? I won't have 4 movies that I want to buy to go along with it. So I'm curious if the end of having signed promos on preorder days signifies an increased occurrence of them.

It's enough of a change to keep me from hoping on spur of the moment titles.

I blew Che and La Bamba by forgetting the times, but I keep staring at Audrey Rose and wondering if I should.

Especially if they have another Anniversary sale in March. Much like Conrack, it's a title that I'm interested in, but I know is going to sit for a bit.

I passed on Conrack lots of times, but recently when I was looking for a 4th title to get over the $100 min, I realized it hadn't even been released on DVD yet. That impressed me enough to go ahead and put it in my cart. For some reason I have this thing about Blu-ray movies that bypass DVD. Normally I don't care for teacher dramas, but with Voight in it and it being scored fairly high on IMDb (plus it being exclusive to Blu-ray), I thought it was worth a buy.

The site's review for The Twilight Samurai is up . This is a fantastic film, the first in Yamada's epic Samurai Trilogy. The Hidden Blade is my beloved from the series but it is not hard to see why The Twilight Samurai is considered the best...Oscar nominee for Best Foreign film and 99% fresh at RT.

I already own the HK version which was NOT cheap...would love to see this movie get the love it deserves and have it sell well. Any hope of getting Love and Honor in BD? Probably not, but I would love to have it . My highest recommendation for The Twilight Samurai.

I agree Twilight Samurai is one of the best movies that TT has released.

Just out of curiosity I watched it tonight. It's a good movie, although the ending left me scratching my head. I usually watch movies with subs (unless it's visually oriented, like a 3D or action movie) and this one sure could have used subs. But nevertheless this one is a winner.

Due to popular demand, Twilight Time has increased the limit for the upcoming Fright Night: 30th Anniversary Special Edition to 5,000 copies. I have updated the first post with this information.

Pre-orders begin December 30 (that's a Tuesday, folks) at 4 pm EST.

I think this is great news, anyone who wants one should be able to get it. No one left behind this time.

If someone releases Blu-rays of THE THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD and THE BEAST FROM 20,000 FATHOMS, I hope they include special features such as cast interviews, etc. I would think that Kenneth Tobey would have recorded some interviews over the decades since his movies were released.
The same is true for James Arness doing interviews for THE THING and THEM!

Also, two questions:

1. Any updates on 20th Century Fox's remastered JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH?
2. Is Twilight Time or someone else going to release additional Blu-rays of MYSTERIOUS ISLAND?

Yup thats 8000 US copies of Fright Night out there now folks. If you are going to unload those copies it's time. When I first heard the announcement months ago I threw Fright Night and Christine up there. Got 130 for Fright Night since it was used. I love the movie so I made sure to put away 35 for the new release. I thought about picking up the other releases but I wabt the lossless audio.

Not sure.....for the January/February announcements in October, they did it on a Saturday afternoon. Not sure TT has a plan, their announcements (other than being every other month) seem random. Wish they'd do like a Criterion and announce on a set day.

My guess is tomorrow. The last two announcements at least have both been on a Saturday.
